reminder:  if anyone is interested, please use PM to arrange a personal unicorn zombie apocalypse!

I remove the underwire on many of my bras because they seem to poke me once they get broken in!  There is nothing worse than an uncomfortable bra!

I am almost ready to post my clean and organized craft room...I was going to repaint it, but with paint being $25 or more a gallon, I figured I could live with the paint and just brighten things up by painting the dark shelves and all the trim white.  I had a bunch of white paint left over from redoing my closet this winter!

I found lots of supplies I forgot I had, and lots of fabric that I brought back from helping my friend clean out her mother's house...so, I am stocked on supplies for quite a while...my garden is my priority now...it will be the biggest frugal payoff in the fall!

I always like to try new things and then I realize that I really don't have a passion for it nor the talent sometimes!  I also like bargains and I tend to stock up and then forget what I originally bought the dang stuff for!

I understand that people are just starting out or life has just thrown a lot of people a curve ball...I was helped out quite a bit when I was learning to sew and people were very generous with their skills, supplies, etc. I think it is meant to be passed on to another group!!  I feel like theapphiremoon does...instead of taking it to the charity shops and hoping the stuff will be used, I would prefer that someone here can at least use some and maybe pass it on as well!!

I know a lot of people have told me that they would eat to unicorn zombie apocalypse and make new friends by swapping, but they don't have the sources or means to get supplies!  That is just not right!  So, I agree, this unicorn zombie apocalypse is HELPING me, as well, and a quarterly would be RAAR grr ugggh to keep my house from being on Hoarders!!! Cheesy

alright!  I have been sending random packages of supplies to people I see in my daily rounds on Craftster...it has been a pleasure to be able to help out...I just can't imagine a day of not crafting because of no supplies Sad

I am in a destash mode (thanks juicebox for pointing me to this unicorn zombie apocalypse!!!)....at my age, I can't possibly use up what I have, so I am happy to share!  I mostly have fabric and fabric scraps to give...I am glad to be in a unicorn zombie apocalypse where I am not going to get stuff back!  I don't need it! Cheesy

16286  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Re: Portfolio Bride cake topper-Give me your opinion! on: April 25, 2010 11:19:03 AM
Your detail on all of the toppers I have seen so far has been exquisite!  I eat that this on is smiling (and what a gorgeous smile!)...the layers on the dress are wonderful!

I also think that a lot of them seemed out of proportion to me ..being a bit top heavy, and therefore appearing to have short legs underneath...I would suggest that if you are trying to put the focus on the upper half, then how about not ending the figure at the hem?  Maybe a cutting off 2/3 down from the top?

I think if I saw the figures actually on the cake, the overall effect would not be as noticeable...

your skills are definitely improved with each subsequent post, so keep up the good work!

I have eaten local honey for years and have not had to take allergy medication for over 10 years...I was a little late this year and have suffered for it a bit, but I have been drinking it with green tea now for about two weeks...it really does work...you suffer for a day or two, but with each year, it gets less and less bothersome!

As I was cleaning this weekend and putting winter stuff away, I realized a frugal tip that maybe we take for granted!

If you take care of stuff (a little preventive maintenance!), it will last longer...I know it sounds simple, but a coat of shoe polish on your shoes and boots will help them last a long time!  I really got into the zen of polishing my shoes and boots before putting them away for next winter! Cheesy

16290  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: Quilts for Kids Quilt-along (Charity for Kids) on: April 25, 2010 10:44:15 AM
cjclark--wowie, you have been busy!  The first one is my favorite one, too!

I think that kids like bright and funky so all of your quilts fit the bill!

I tend to buy multicolor quilt fabrics for the backing so they can go with a lot of colors...I like to get them while on sale or if I have a coupon...however, I get pretty sick of them quickly, so I try not to get more than what I will use for 3 quilts!

Yay jennieingram--I know it is hard to get any group together these days with such diverse schedules!  I know that when you guys are done, it will be such a big accomplishment for all!
