16251  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: Turning plastic lids into art frames... on: May 27, 2010 09:16:20 AM
I love all these recycling ideas for displaying our stuff!  Only one bad thing...now I will be collecting more stuff! ha ha
16252  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Coloring Pencil Roll! on: May 27, 2010 08:17:40 AM
I always found the ribbon ties to be a pain...a simple button and elastic band is a great idea!   I did that for the crochet rolls I made for swaps...your daughter will appreciate it so much more! Cheesy
16253  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Givers and Needers #7 Gallery! on: May 27, 2010 08:07:39 AM
gentle reminder to all: please use PM to express personal thoughts to one of our own...especially in a gallery...

We are getting off-topic, which is against the rules...

I remember those as a kid!  I still have a potholder I made! Cheesy

I love that loops can be made from t-shirts!

And I love that bethieb's links only inspire and urge us on so that we have no excuses not to try an unfamiliar craft!!
16255  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: 2010 DeStash-Along on: May 27, 2010 07:51:40 AM
I went through my library and found three fat quarter quilt books that I sort of forgot about and also a great fat quarter project book for making totes, aprons, etc.

I am going to be starting June with a bunch of ideas to destash and make more projects using my fat quarters!

oooo--I forgot to mention that I am so jealous of the crochet doll dresses!  I want to make some sort of new dress for my first baby doll..she is wearing a sewn christening dress now and told me she needs a nice summer dress and bonnet (all of her was pulled out by me when I was a kid!)...Cheesy

I went home and cleaned my kitchen, too--so glad to have that chore over for the weekend!  I did notice that my pantry was getting a bit disorganized due to hubby's weird phobia of running out of dry goods!  I will need to do a little tweaking there and maybe move out some of my decorative baskets so he has more room!

I do think it must be the vinegar...actually, vinegar is good for so many things!

I think I will plant cabbages and a few cucumbers in the front yard! As far as loofah is concerned, they do send out tendrils to hold themselves up...I have mine growing against a trellis...you can use a tomatoe cage or make a bamboo teepee...I used two stakes and twine one year but the fruits are too heavy and made the twine sag!  I am hoping to buy a stevia plant this weekend!

I have never had luck growing any type of melons...they need so much water and rich rich dirt...I don't have that... Sad

Hope to see some of you hear this long weekend...but let's try to get some family and relaxing time in for sure!!!
16257  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Be Awesome Swap! - CLOSED! Sendouts 6/21 on: May 27, 2010 07:24:59 AM
I have trained my DH to not throw the cereal or cracker boxes out into the recycle...I need them for ATC's and inchies!!!  He does breakdown the boxes, but he leans them up in the garage for me...gotta love it!

It must be because I have put up with his storing all of the stereo equipment boxes in the attic---after 11 years, I am doubting that we are going to return anything and if we move, the movers will pack them up...but, I am not pushing it since he doesn't mind my quirks!

Ready to do hardcore crafting in about 7 hours...hubby has to work Friday and Saturday, so that gives me lots of guilt free crafting time! YAY for long weekends!

I am lamer than you....I have only done swap projects and little fix-up projects...I made a new list for this weekend and for June...my big project will be the May drawing!!!

And, the June incentive plan... Cheesy
