16081  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Dotees - Round 10 GALLERY Send out 7/19/10 on: August 24, 2010 06:31:55 AM
What a happy and gorgeous dotee!  You can definitely see the details put into this--and the story and use of recycled items is wonderful!

I agree that sparkley things can make even the dullest days bright and cheery!

I love that dotee!!

I love the pug and the owls (sorry, late but I forgot to bookmark the gallery!)...

I will need to catch up later when I can type more...but so far, wonderful and varied ATC's!

I am with racky--my pages are not bound yet so I have been doing backgrounds one sheet at a time (or two at a time if I do both halves)...I did notice some leakage from the front to the back, but I kinda like it so I am not worrying too much about it...Aroz...I think your page background looks terrific!

I got a box for my journal and just threw in a bunch of supplies...I am still doodling on scraps and then working at home so at least everything is together in one place.
16084  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Practice Makes... on: August 20, 2010 01:10:01 PM
Beautiful fabric masks flaws that probably only you can see ! Wink

The Amish purposely make things with flaws because they believe only God is perfect!  I like that idea and include a goofy/mistake block in all my quilts!

If you sew the patches together with the edges on the outside, you could bind them and make a tote bag...add fabric to the bottom and sides (be sure to make them two sided so you won't have to line the bag!)...I think it is great to practice and then be able to use your practice pieces!

Love you quilts, waggonwest...they are just so happy!

wow pixieval--I think praying to the postal gods helped a lot!

The blanket turned out fabulous (hee hee --after having re-do's? )...thanks for sharing the technique as well....

onegroovyday--those bowls are beautiful and aren't they fun?  I bought mega spools of thread today because they do take a lot of thread!

The snack bags are also so handy!  What cute fabric!

I liked your bag the best psyche!  The color is perfect and I love pleats...plus, what a great way to recycle a not so cute dress Wink...good luck in the challenge!
16087  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Totally Reversible Flight Suit bag! (Pic heavy) on: August 20, 2010 12:54:44 PM
same with me--I hate doing anything multiple...

Wow--I am impressed how you were able to use so many pockets and also making the bag reversible AND a decent zipper and strap!

The fabric intrigues me...it looks light and yet so rugged...you did a great job and I bet you are loving that it is finally done and that you are getting compliments galore! YAY!

I love your scarf, btw!  I saw some new chunky yarn at Joann's today, but I kept myself from buying it even thought it was on sale--I can't do much with a sprained wrist anyway...except drool over all the projects!

I love that yarn!  Someone sent me a whole bag of those small knitted cords---I had no idea what to do with them!

Great idea to use them in PJ pants!  and, combining them in with other yarns for the scarves!  Yet another reason to hang out with you guys!

OMG--I just read that pinkleo's package went MIA!  Did you take pics before you sent?  Would it be too sad to at least post what you made...maybe it will make it back to someone someday!? Sad
