awww--he looks quite intrigued by his package!  The t-shirt is really cool and I bet the soap is yummy smelling---mmm chocolate!

I hope he draws some dragons that he can post!  That looks like fun and a great way to learn to draw them!

Shelina--I love your quilty cover and your explanation of how you did it!  It is great that a lot of people are definitely finding things that mean something to them to put in these journals!

Val--I agree--you need to include crochet just like I need to include fabric/quilting...it is so much a part of our lives!

To glue my pages together, I thinned down plain white glue, smoothed it with a roller, then ironed my sheets when they were slightly damp...but all of my pages are out of the book so if I screwed up, it would not hurt the other pages...or I could replace pages easily since I do not plan to bind until I am through...

Speaking of catsuits...I saw that violentjane made two jumpsuits that very much reminded me of the aftermath of the hippie movement...the beginning of the 1980's!!!  ha ha shall we reminisce about those years?

I brought my wedding album to work to scan in my dress...I was surprised to see lace on the collar because I thought for sure I was anti-lace back then!!  The pics are from 1976 and I suspect it was "fashion" trying to copy the real hippies in some way...I did, after all, buy the dress...I laughed when I saw the floral long dresses the mothers wore...omg...I think my mother still has that dress in her closet! It also has lace on it...go figure! I will scan the pic at lunch and post.

This is just so cool...I am just exploring the world of crochet and am finding out more and more about different techniques, but this one is a definite favorite!

Thanks for a hopefully simple start for a beginner like me--and, since hubby is a musician, a perfect first try with a note as the illusion!

The center part and the sunglasses are a nice touch!  I know this might be too late since the event is Saturday, but have you tried a pair of cut off jeans under the caftan instead of leggings?  I don't think we had leggings back then that I recall...the floral print worked out well!!!

15620  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Ongoing ATC Swap Discussion 2.0 on: August 12, 2010 11:42:03 AM
An ATC is not considered a rigid object unless it is thicker than 1/4"...like if you stick it in a bubblewrap envelope...when you mail it just in a regular envelope, it is .98...I bought tons of stamps for sending ATC's to foreign countries...I just try to make sure they are not overly thick and do not need the protection of a bubblewrap...

An ounce is also a lot...I think I have mailed three or four at a time and it was still the same price...but I have a postage scale at my disposal and a stamp machine, so I can have them weigh each envelope I send...
