Alisha--I would buy one of those learn to sew simplicity patterns and make PJ pants or a simple skirt first...nothing with a zipper! Cheesy The instructions usually include basics like how to lay out fabric etc.

Or maybe an apron...a mug rug has corners, quilting, turning inside out, etc. However, I think you could handle it!  Trial and error is a good teacher, even if the project turns out a bit wonky! Cheesy  JUMP IN!!!

Guys, not to be a meanie--but can we take the tattoo talk to the Tattoo thread, please? Cheesy

I am not sure I know what a slip stitch is, but I am going to look it up...part of my goal this year is to learn more terms, patterns, etc. for both knitting and crochet...I learned both when I about 9 years old but I never learned the names! Cheesy

Also, I had no idea you could crochet on the diagonal...

I am knitting a scarf on the diagonal but I am very much intrigued with the crochet...the scarf is lovely, indigo rose!

I love the houdstooth! Do you just carry the yarn behind?  I know that with stockinette that curling can be a problem...I am not experienced enough to know how to fix that...

I also enjoyed making random stripes more than any of the other patterns...yours turned out pretty nice!

noooo--I just viewed your entire digital book...I am so proud of you and you can always print off your digital page for your hubby...it was one of my favorites, too!

I got artist block and did not submit my book last year, but I am really really tempted not to swap and do this instead (I learned a lesson in spreading myself out too thin and forgetting that life can throw some unexpected curve balls!)...

I will check out the 2012 thread and see what is going on... Cheesy

Great pictures!

You did it silvermoon...and I bet you will get another! Cheesy

Yes, please tell us about your choice...I love reading the tattoo thread on Craftster to see why people pick what they do!

Lozzieozzie--you should check out kittykill's crafty tattoos...I love the pincushion and tape measure idea..it is hard to come up with new ideas but there are some really talented people...

I had to take something back to Joann's last night and of course, all of their Halloween fabric was on sale!!!

I bought small amounts of about 10 fabrics to make more of these for the neighborhood kids!  With my return, the fabrics were "free"--plus I got $1.54 back! ha ha Cheesy

I picked out fabrics, so hopefully, I will set my timer and see if I can beat leslieshappyheart's time! Cheesy

Thanks for the nice comments...nervous energy makes me knit fast! Cheesy

I do think simpler patterns are the best since the amount of work and the type of yarn has to be balanced...I would love to try out harder patterns but not using this yarn....I am not sure if I have enough yarn to make one or two more, but whatever, I will be pretty sick of red and blue! Cheesy

(except, I am going to make a Spiderman afghan and guess what colors it is? UGH!!!!!!!! Cheesy)
