15491  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Inchie my theme swap on: April 30, 2010 08:22:44 AM
My theme will be very easy...NOT...I have so many ideas for themes! Do all 96 have to be the same theme?
15492  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Baby Girl Floral Quilt on: April 30, 2010 08:21:08 AM
Lovely color combo and nice size!

I am amazed at how quickly you can get your quilts done!  You have completed so many this year! wow

Can't wait to see your next one! (also loved your monkey quilt!!)

I definitely want to make a pillow!  Since my little niece loves fairies, I think I will embroider one on the pillow and put in a simple pocket..maybe under a wand or something...I just saw her a few weeks ago and she had all her teeth--she is in kindergarten.
15494  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Over 30 Fine Wine Geezer Swap Round 3 (Signups April 23-May 14, Send by July 17 on: April 30, 2010 07:45:37 AM
I am taking apart my sewing machines, serger and embroidery machine to clean them and oil them in preparation of this swap! I need to file down the burrs on my throatplates, replace blades and cutters, make sure I have enough needles and wind tons of bobbins (I am in love with Nancy Zeiman's bobbin holder!!!)...

Until we get partners, I am just sewing random stuff for gifts for all those summer barbeques we attend!  Aprons, potholders, fabric baskets (they are washable!!)...and lots of painted little birdhouses (my new addiction!)...

*sigh* can't wait to get started....

oh--that's right...mine is just a regular closet door so I am thinking of a simple molding around it...I think one quart should be enough...I will go back to your post to read your tips again! I don't want to screw it up!

I have tons of magazines I was going to just recycle...good idea to take them to the nursing home!  While I am there, I will ask about donating some supplies...I know the one near us, the ladies make quilts that are put on display!!  Egad, I hope I am making quilts if I go to a nursing home someday!

I know this might seem obvious, but I bought a bag of bagels today that are ONE day old!!  They were $1 for 6 of them (huge!)...normally they are $1 each at the Dunkin Donuts!  I throw them in the freezer anyway and then toast them, so I have 12 servings for  less than 10 cents!!! (half is plenty with a bit of jelly!)....yummmm
15497  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: craftalong to post a project on every completed projects board in craftster 2010 on: April 30, 2010 07:25:17 AM
I found an old old craft magazine that had a simple loom made of cardboard...I have a loom that I made using a picture frame, but it is hard to make the pieces nice and even on the sides...the cardboard loom makes nice even weaves...I will take some pics in case anyone wants to try it!

I have some old yarn that sort of felted itself in my closet (humidity, probably!!)...I am going to see if I can use that as the warp strings (is that right?)  gaaa--I better learn the terms as well!!

Bethieb--I will also set my goal to do that darn scrapbook page and weaving this month!!!

I will be able to cross off Curvaceous Clothing, More Art, and Cooking as soon as a certain swap partner receives!!

great!  I have quite a few to make and am waiting for Joann's to get them back in stock!! I made a few with felt and did not have to deal with raw edges, but even those were such a pain!

A tooth pillow!!!!  Can someone tell me when kids start losing their teeth?  I have a 5 year old niece, a 2 year old one, and a 1 year old nephew...a tooth pillow with a place to put money would be great if I am not too late!

I am very excited to see the paper to porcelain!  You do the most interesting crafts, pinokeeo!  I am buying chalkboard paint this weekend to paint my craftroom door so I can write lists and doodle! Did you ever frame yours out and how is it working for you?
Thanks for the cocoa mix recipe!  It sounds yummy and would make great gifts from Chocolatetown, USA (Hershey!!!).

I love seeing the sets because I find stuff I love about each one!

The monopoly board one is so cute...also love the Time one...the peacock feather is gorgeous!...I missed the lace--so lovely...in my set, I also loved the ticket one...it is fun to use different backgrounds...btw--in case anybody care, the crown is from the Crown Royal logo...my hubby contributed to that one! Cheesy  He drank it, I got the box! Wink

A mobile!!!!  Can't wait to see that!!
