They appreciate whatever you do!  Send the second one in whenever!  I got my second kit and I will probably only get it done, even though I cut out fabric for my stash one, because of tax season and swaps!!

Crafting is suppose to be fun, not stressful--and even a bit late is ok as well!!  I think I barely made it, and with shipping time, it was almost 7 weeks!

I think all dotees kinda look like amputees--I like to think of them as being swaddled in loving fabrics, leaves, wings, etc.  Are you guys putting arms on them?  Shocked

wow veri--you are working this craftalong!

Can I suggest that at the end of your list you actually put how many you have completed? or maybe highlight the "done"?  I like to visually see how much people get done to get my butt into gear! Smiley

Thanks--it is hard to see, but the green pockets are paisley--the apron was a gift to craftster member prettyinpaisley for her birthday! Smiley

She had a crafting apron in her wishlist!

I have recently taught two young women to sew and it is an amazing experience...they get the gift of a lifelong hobby and you get to pass on your experience and wisdom...a win-win situtation for sure!

The best tip I can give is not to be too strict on the "rules"--sometimes just getting things finished and done is the best way to start...skills can be improved and new techniques learned over time, but you do not want to kill the enthusiasm and joy of sewing by critiquing how straight a seam is, or other insignificant stuff...

I usually start with a very simple project with fun and fabulous fabric (usually from my stash since newbies are afraid of wasting their hard earned money if they screw up!)...in the case of the moms, we made simple bibs and learned how to sew on appliques to already purchased clothes---fast and inexpensive--a simple curtain valance or a straight apron is also a nice project to start!

I sent prettyinpaisley another package with the stuff I originally made before I got distracted by making someone a jeans apron!!  I love crafting ADD... Cheesy

Working on an idea that involves gold and burgandy colors...hmmmm....wonder who that could be for? Wink

What a gorgeous color green!!  Maybe it will remind her of spring and cheer her up a lot!

I absolutely love those slippers...you did a great job on the cuffs...I guess you just winged them, huh?  no pattern Sad

oh maremare--I do envy your organization!!  I see what you do with the large pieces, but what about smaller pieces less than a fat quarter?  I like how you have your fabric lined up on the bookshelf--easy to see

and also, where do you put very large pieces and interfacing and batting?  Those take up so much room!!

I am glad you showed your messy room---it does make me feel better and it shows me there is hope for my room!

I am so stealing lylacfey's idea of an open bin for paper--going to get one today if I can't find a sturdy cardboard box with handles...I am also buying two MDF boards and painting them for shelves to hold boxes (they probably won't be nicely decorated now, but I can work on that!)...crafting is so much of my life that I need to make this a priority...

I found a local independent Korean woman who cuts my hair for about half of what it used to cost me--she is really good and is also willing to trade my old clothes for services!  I think she sends them to her family in Korea, so it is a win-win situation!  I stopped doing my acrylic nails--too much time and money...natural is in, right? Cheesy

Plus, with gardening and weightlifting, I can't see damaging them and then repairing them all the time...

I grew tomatoes on my small apartment patio and also jalapaneo peppers...you only need one or two and as long as you water when dry, they do great!  Also, you can grow herbs (do you have a railing that you can hand hooks on and then hang the post off the hooks?--some places don't allow it, so be careful!)...

I will put the link up later, bongirl5, if you don't mind my putting it here...or I can pm you with it...if you have left over fabric you can make a matching set!  They are so fun to make with coordinating fabrics!  There is another member here who gave a great tutorial and she puts a zipper in hers...I will find that for you as well!

I know you can make this--piece of cake now that you are a "pro"!! love and hugs

bongirl5--you should make a passport wallet to carry your passport, e-ticket/ticker, change, maps, id, etc.  Like this:

I could give you the link to the templates if you'd like!

Your binding looks pretty darn good ... I am so proud of your growing skills!!
