 Shocked Kiss

I keep having nightmares of some customs person not believing it is your "birthday", jemimah, and tearing the entire box open....Wink

I marked it as a gift...it should arrive soon...per my postmaster, 6-10 days, so let's hope for the 6 days and you get it tomorrow! (I bet they mean business days...grrrr)

Those are all great tips!

I love mixing and matching pattern pieces...if you have a basic dress that fits well, you can add different sleeves or necklines pretty easily (I learned from experience and also a few good books!)...also, vintage patterns made in modern fabrics gives you a longer life for the pattern!

Thrift stores are a good source for a lot of sewing notions if you are willing to spend a bit of time...I like to snip out the labels as well to use in altered art pieces...and the buttons can be used for charms and not just sewing...

if you are ever at a social gathering with elderly people, sometimes if you mention that you sew, a lot of them have old sewing items that they no longer want!  Just recently, I was offered a vintage treadle sewing machine and table and all of the sewing items inside!  I am going to pick it up this weekend!  So, talk about your passion...another person who was once passionate about sewing might be listening! Cheesy

oh sh_t, silvermoon...I knew you had three boys!!!  I am embarrassed by my mistake...sorry!  I just saw the hat and assumed it was a niece or something...HE will be a heartbreaker for sure...you will have to watch that one with the girls Wink

Congrats on you bistitchual status!!! I was the opposite---learned how to knit when I was about 10, made slippers and won first prize at a fair for my age group...Mom crocheted but I could not or did not want to learn to do it with the tiny threads she used...I took it back up thanks a lot to fantasticmio...she made it interesting with her crazy colors and stitches...projects I wanted to do...so now I switch from one to another...it is wonderful to be bistitchual!

ha ha v3nu5---I watch hoarders just to make my room look better in my eyes... Grin...

and, just a reminder: only about 25 days left to get the big 50!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  If you are not there yet, get going!

I think a lot more people are finding that hand sewing can be relaxing and practical...I love the holidays because I make a lot of hand sewn ornaments and gifts...

lovely stitching also adds to the pieces, I think...good for using leftovers!  Scrappy, indeed!

Such creative critters!  Just love the stories full of imagination as well!

The mug rug is very lovely...it would make a nice mat for pictures if you do not want to chance ruining it!

how are the changeable legs attched?  I love that idea!

The sewing machine cushion is going on my wishlist!  I am constantly laying down pins on my table and then knocking them to the floor!  Good idea!!

love the nautical theme...once again, I am saying that mugrugs are my new best friend...I love them and to have a scrappy one would make anyone happy!
