15111  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Knitters vs Crocheters Swap - Round 2! (Signups CLOSED - Send by 7/12) on: June 21, 2010 06:34:38 AM
I am checking in as well...I was on a super roll and then fizzled out after I finished my "big" project...it seems the little ones are throwing me off probably because I think I can get them done quickly (I am such a procrastinator!)...but at least the projects are of lightweight cotton yarn and not too hot to knit is this stinking heat!!! Cheesy
15112  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Awesome Altered Puzzle on: June 21, 2010 06:31:17 AM
The frame I bought can be hung in any direction Smiley

I am thinking of rotating the direction every once in a while because it looks different each way!!

I really love the dark smudged edges as well...and, it is mine! Cheesy

I thought the case was awesome, but to see what it held and the incredible wet felted strap...wow...now that is what I call a completely thoughtful and personal package (and great stalking skills as well!)...

I just know the gallery is going to explode in a few days, so I am soaking in the Awesomeness already sent (awesome that some of you are early shippers! Wink unlike, eh-hem, some like me that are last minute marys!)...

wow--I think this might be the most wisted gallery of all!!
15114  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Dotees - Mini Art Dolls - Round 10 DISCUSSION Send out 7/19/10 on: June 21, 2010 06:08:40 AM
A dotee without a tail is an art doll, I was told... Cheesy

I think my only request is that whatever it is, that I can hang it and that it is not over the size requirement and like smmart said, it should have a face!!

Partners--I forgot one important thing on my questionnaire, which may or may not be that relevant...uh, I fear clowns and anything that resembles a clown's face...that includes mimes, jesters and anything with Ronald McDonald...Wink

I am thrilled with the partners I got!!  My brain is swirling with ideas for each of you!
15115  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: FrugALong 2010 on: June 18, 2010 10:48:38 AM
I am going to be using my dehydrator in the garage with the door open a bit to let out the awful heat it puts out...I am making turkey jerky, which requires a very long time and I do not want to use my oven!

I am also using an old plastic pretzel jar to make sun tea...too hot for the kettle!

I am so excited about the ginger post!!  Hubby was having some digestive issues and so I bought a jar of pickled ginger and he is just amazed at how much better he is feeling!  But it is so expensive!  It would be great to have it growing!  I know the root freezes so well...

cassandra--I must have given you the wrong link for the shrug because the one I am making is definitely knitted!!  I printed it out so I will check to see if I also printed out the address.  Sorry about that!

I grow milkweed, but it does not look like a dandelion at all...I grow it mostly for the butterflies...

ok--I think maybe I already shared this, but I got a bad case of poison ivy and the dead sea salt scrub literally dried it up in three days with no itching!  I love that stuff!!  I am going to see if regular salt scrubs would work so I can make my own...hubby says no, because the concentration of salt is not strong enough ...huh?  salt is salt, right?

After my two swaps are done on Wednesday, I will be working 100% on my own projects and my own frugal things...

One bit of icky news...hubby found four more boxes of "stuff" while cleaning out the basement and put them into my nice clean crafting room...it never ends...I did find four yards of some weird blue fabric that I am going to make into lightweight pants (I want a pair of those Thailand fighting pants?)...I had to recycle about 200 old Readers Digest books I was saving for papercrafts because they got moldy...thank goodness I had already torn off the great covers and had them in a sealed container!

Seriously, do I need to keep my art work from elementary school?
