You are so right!!!  We have a saying in our business:

When would NOW be a good time to do it?!

I am already taking old coats and sweaters to the winter outer wear collection...I am sure someone could use those fabrics for something better than my struggling with what things do I HAVE to make with it...

Sewing should be a "Want to" Cheesy

I think it would look great with buttons!!  It would take care of the quilting as well!  I would use white buttons and maybe red thread?  If you have any left, you could also put tons of buttons along the cuff for added embellishment...

Buttons seem to be the "in" embellishment now!  Go for it!

Thanks for the oven mitt answers...I think I am going to try it with my flannel...if they get burned or icky, I won't feel bad since I am not in love with the fabric anyway Cheesy  Seriously, next year I am going to make it the year of getting rid of ugly fabric I have been hoarding for no reason other than it was "free" or cheap...It is not fun to work with and I do not have time to make ugly things just because.. Cheesy

You could always craft tons of baby things for that cutie-pie!!

I plan on putting more baby things on my list as they are fast and satisfying!
15105  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: Your Best Pumpkin Recipes!! on: October 27, 2010 06:13:49 AM
If I can find canned pumpkin this weekend (we are still having a bit of a shortage!)...I will take pics of my pumpkin ravioli...I love dishes that use veggies in unusual ways...has anyone else made pumpkin goodness to post?

I just added your biscotti to my cookbook!  You made it look so easy and biscotti is so expensive at the coffee shop!

Great idea to get these on sale for next year!  I just have to remember where I put them---btw--all the Halloween stuff is on sale at Michaels and Joanns!!

I can't believe it...I actually dreamed of the dotee I am making you Fullmoon!!

I was struggling with it because you gave artist choice! Cheesy

15108  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Vintage inspired halloween wallet on: October 27, 2010 06:07:00 AM
My Brother goes through quite a few layers but you are right--my Singer basic machine poops out with about 5 layers of thin fabric!

Great tips!  I want to make a purse out of the canvas so I will definitely use them!

PS.  Your Purse wallet is also awesome!!!!

Did you find working with the canvas was more difficult?  Topstitching through all the layers?  How about raveling?

I love the PA outlet...I get all of my zippers there...now I need to go look for cool fabric as well Cheesy
