15101  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Patchwork Sampler Blanket/Pillow Knitalong! on: February 16, 2011 12:46:10 PM
I bet all white is gorgeous, but I am like you--interest wanes...I am struggling with my all white quilt...even though the patterns are different and there are slight color variations, it is still WHITE! Cheesy

The ones in purple really catch my eye...they are stunning...

Thanks--it is a beret style hat designed by another craftster member...she designed it so that that part of the hat is shown off the best when worn, so use it to make bobbles, insert interesting stitches or yarns, etc.  So versatile and easy to make it unique for yourself or a friend! Cheesy

What a fun and detailed quilt!  It caught my eye because I also collect food prints...no idea why...it started with peas...then mushrooms...and, this is weird because almost all of mine come from J and O Fabrics as well... Smiley

Now I am going to have to try something like this...and your other quilt is also incredible!  They both show off your personality so well!  wow ...this does rock!

I just love the textures of all the stitches!

I was going to make scarves out of some really lovely stitches I found but I might just want to do a sampler instead!  Such a nice mix you have KLKing---and those leaves are gorgeous!!!

I printed out all the instructions...I am doing the crochet motifs, but I think I like knitting better! Cheesy

such lovely ideas--I especially like how the HB tab sticks out over the card in the last one!

Also, the top one is a very unusual shaped card!  wonderful...so inspiring to the class...

Awesome! I love the colors. (especially the last one. Very fairy like) Great Job!  Grin

thanks to your excellent instructions!  I love hats and like to have a lot of variety depending on my mood!  I used to think your slouchy hat was my favorite but now I think this one is coming close! Cheesy

I seriously am going to give it my best shot to try the hearts again...Cheesy

Appreciate your support and encouragement, AprilDraven!

alwaysinmyroom - those are all beautiful! I love the colors in the blue hat and the textures of the yarn in the black and red hat! The boot inserts are genius! Please tell me that you didn't also do the scarf this weekend (which is gorgeous by the way) or I will be even more convinced that I craft/knit at a snails pace...  Grin
...thanks for your kind words!

ha ha I made the scarf earlier in the month but forgot to take pics...I am fast but not that fast! Cheesy

I am waiting for new yarn to make another scarf like that...I used a sporting weight and it seems stiff to me...I ordered some soft mohair in gold Cheesy

The boot inserts were so quick--no sewing either...basically, I crocheted a washcloth shape to go around my leg, joined it with slip stitch after the last stitch was made...picked up stitches at the top and used a big fat N needle! ha ha  I think I was done in less than half an hour! Cheesy

I have some red and green bulky yarn that I will used to make a few more pairs before spring hits

What a lovely style and color!  The trim is to die for!

Was the fabric hard to work with?

You did a fabulous job considering how little she paid you for it...I am sure the details and the time you spent were way above that! Cheesy

The only minor thing I would point out for future reference is possibly the fabric pattern placement...not sure if it is just your dressform, but the triangles over the full part of the bust are a bit distracting Cheesy...when worn, I am sure they fall in a different place Wink

You certainly met the challenge---did you post the other tops she wanted as well?

I have selected this piece as a MODERATOR's CHOICE!!

I made three hats this weekend (yeah--pretty boring weekend!)...

This one is my favorite:

Also, got some cool yarn in a swap so I had to use some of it:

Got tired of air going down my shortie boots so I whipped up these boot inserts--simple crochet--the part under the bulky yarn is a regular worsted weight yarn--the bulky yarn folds over the boot top!

Finally, the terrific Luna Scarf designed by pinkleo and shown in this gallery by luckdragon!

thank you--so I am guessing that you make your little monsters on your own? Cheesy

I am still learning...I plan on practicing on scraps because it is one of my goals to do a filet piece someday! Cheesy
