The center part and the sunglasses are a nice touch!  I know this might be too late since the event is Saturday, but have you tried a pair of cut off jeans under the caftan instead of leggings?  I don't think we had leggings back then that I recall...the floral print worked out well!!!
15093  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Kids Swap gallery on: August 12, 2010 12:14:26 PM
What a lovely pillow!  Your daughter looks quite pleased with it as well (what a beautiful child!)...this swap was so nice to follow...it is wonderful seeing the kids since we are a crafting community... Cheesy

15095  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Ongoing ATC Swap Discussion 2.0 on: August 12, 2010 11:42:03 AM
An ATC is not considered a rigid object unless it is thicker than 1/4"...like if you stick it in a bubblewrap envelope...when you mail it just in a regular envelope, it is .98...I bought tons of stamps for sending ATC's to foreign countries...I just try to make sure they are not overly thick and do not need the protection of a bubblewrap...

An ounce is also a lot...I think I have mailed three or four at a time and it was still the same price...but I have a postage scale at my disposal and a stamp machine, so I can have them weigh each envelope I send...
15096  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Stitchalongs / Re: Teesha Moore Type Journal.. anyone want to play?? on: August 12, 2010 11:36:02 AM
The back pocket addition is perfect!

I am afraid that I agree with your hubby...the purse is really suppose to be whacky, busy, crazy, whatever and the strap sort of stands out in its "plainness" Cheesy...I would definitely add some colorful embellishments to make it blend in better...

Thanks so much for showing it off...it truly inspires me to finish mine and I think I know what I want to do for the strap now!

It is really very nicely done!!
15097  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: 2010 DeStash-Along on: August 12, 2010 11:30:33 AM
I have been adding bits to my TM fabric pillows and if you find a good size one, they make pretty wing collars for blouses...I have the same dilemma with hankies...I have been passing them on to people like kittykill and batgirl, who use them to embroider in the centers...I use some to make collars and I am making a hanky quilt...

I keep wondering what is going to happen to all of the handmade goodies I have done or have received from swaps when I am gone...I hope someone does something with it all ! Cheesy

It rained for days at Woodstock...things got muddy and ugly and it was so hot...so, the thing to do is to go naked... Cheesy

At first those pictures really saddened me, thinking of someone working so hard to make those...but, if they were sitting in a box in someone's basement or attic, they would still be deteriorating...and at least, they would be shown off in their glory, even if it is for a short time!  It really is beautiful against the dark bark of the tree...and, maybe as they fell apart, the birds would use some of the thread for nests...

Take lots of pics when you do yours, CLM!! Cheesy

That would have made a cool secret inchies set...but now I need to think of some other secret Cheesy

I need to check out my work schedule (tax extension time soon approaching!)...to see if I can sneak this one in!
