15081  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Lastest Cubimals on: October 28, 2010 07:40:20 AM
These are adorable!  Just in time for the holidays...they would make great gifts, for sure!

I love the pink little pig!

OMG--I just went to your blog and laughed when I saw the ribbon hat...it is from the book that I learned how to knit and crochet with!  I still have the book!

I took a sneak peak at the rest of your cubimals! Can't wait until you post them--the little duck is another favorite!

my goodness you are versatile...from sewing to sculpture!

I just spent the last half hour reading about the Uthando Project...it made me well up with tears...I see that you are in Australia and it appears that the project is originally started there...wow...

I guess the movement is similar to the many we have here, including Quilt for Kids, the Linus Project, etc.  I have always loved dolls, however (which is why I always join the dotee swaps!!)...my first knit project was a doll dress!  I learned to sew by hand making doll clothes...

I think in January, I am going to re-evaluate my crafting projects and gear them toward more causes like this...it has to be so rewarding...I feel my heart swelling today... Cheesy

Your story was lovely...the homage to your aunt and uncle was beautiful...I think it was very wise of you to select something so personal and meaningful since you will have it forever...

The design is simple, not in your face, subtle, and has a great story to tell if you want, but it also tells a little about you without even asking!

I love your little spool of thread...

Great use of the candy corn!

It is unusual and unique...love the addition of the flowers...such creativity...

There are going to be some bright days for some lucky children...wow...what a wonderful cause...you sure made very good use of some fabric stash...are the dolls made of felt?

They have such cute faces!

I had a cape like that when I was a child---I loved it!!!  What an ambitious project, KLKing!!  You are always doing the neatest things, though...and I love how you modernize retro items...I found some fabulous modern "Hawaiin" type fabric that I want to use the pattern that you sent to me...I just love old pattens and wish I had kept more of mine...

I don't think you will have enough of that wool to make a cape...I think you need nearly six yards... Sad

That was one lovely rug!  I crocheted one t-shirt rug and I think I am done with that...it was not that enjoyable to me...
