ok--that link did it...I am definitely getting more yarn today...I don't think PA will mind having two scarves the same, right, indigo_roses? Wink
15073  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Wicked Vices Altered Altoid Tin Swap (SU thru 1/14 or full, SO 2/15) on: January 05, 2012 08:48:16 AM
I tried hard to resist...maybe that is a vice: resisting Altered Tin Swaps?

gaah--I gave in...Cheesy

I had to think hard about my vices...I actually consider them to be "personality" traits... Cheesy

Ffrogg--I have frogged many projects that just never got used or did not turn out the way I thought...I look at it as a learning experience and it did keep my hands busy...I think you have to decide to finish a wip or give it up...life is too short to have unfinished business...finish or move on! Cheesy

I loved the striped smart phone cover, bambii8899---the colors are so soothing...the hat is cute, too (an in one of my fav colors!)

kksimone--what adorable stationary!  ha The Mario sampler is also very nice!

laughinglark--what fun mittens--I nearly snorted out coffee when I read that they had the right amount of thumbs (reminded me of when I made six fingered gloves...)...

dawnstrees--I am loving your wood projects...those coasters are so clever!  Did you see the cute scrabble pillow that jillybeans made?  I know she played around trying to make all the words go up and down!  And, she had to use proper names which is even harder! I bet your friend loves her coasters!

zombielili--your ATCs are really nice...love the bunny...are you in the January swap?  I would love to swap for one of your gorgeous watercolors...Cheesy

suereal--what a list!  I love that you are doing so many projects for your home...I think we are lucky as crafting people to personalize our homes with our own artistic touches!  I need to add more home things to my list (although I am surprising my hubs with new curtains and chair upholstery for his music studio!)

Such a clever dress/skirt, aprettymess!  ha ha I think one yard might cover my butt...but not the front! Cheesy

The knit is very flattering on you! I use a tiny zig zag when I sew with knits...I have a stretch stitch but I do not like how the seams stretch out...I also use a ballpoint needle (just be sure to change it when you switch to regular fabric!)...

wow tryskal!  Your company should provide a machine--maybe even pay you to fit uniforms for others!

15076  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: Pattern Weights in a Gift Tin on: January 05, 2012 07:22:51 AM
I love these and have sent a lot of people to this thread...weights sure beat pins on large pieces of patterns and I hav even used them to hold down my quilt tops until I can get them pinned...wonderful project!

I used pea gravel in mine---very cheap, pliable and heavy...I think I got a huge bag at Home Depot for about $3!

Great tip!!!

I totally forgot that the Amazon warehouse is down the road from me...duh...I got my book yesterday and made three flowers and a leaf! Cheesy

I did buy yarn but I am not happy with how floppy it seems...I am definitely going to try the sharpie trick on some off white wool I have!

I also do not have pink yarn, but I am sure I can make some with that off white wool...awesome--I won't have to buy full skeins just to get a bit of yarn!

Pics tonight!  Love the book--so inspirational and pretty!
15078  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Scrap Happy Patchwork Swap GALLERY: send by 11/30 on: January 05, 2012 07:15:51 AM
I am so excited for you to be expecting another little one, Mrs_P!!!  So many adventures for your family with the house and now this news!

ha ha I have to tell you that I did get some raised eyebrows when I showed people what I made for you.. Cheesy

But, my hubby has requested one for his studio bathroom since it is washable!

Glad you liked everything...the bee cushion is made from a mayo jar lid...my favorite type of cushion as it seems to stay put on my tables!

wheeeeeeeeee---I think this ends this swap on a positive note! Cheesy

Thanks for your patience and thanks for the kind comments...I swear this actually was one of my favorite swaps ever!

What a pretty top!

Jolyon--I totally forgot that I can use my stash of embroidery thread for this CAL and yours!

I started my trio of flies (don't ask...) Smiley...I purchased the incorrect size of waste canvas...had I started it, the pillows would be as big as my couch cushions!  oops...so I bought 14 count today but since it is "waste", it will disappear when I am done, so it is NOT stash...I am using leftover threads as close as I can match...

You can join in the fun any time! Smiley

I loved that scrappy pillow...I think that would be a nice way to use up some of the bits I have left over from my quilts...also, good to see Teesha Moore items on lists!  I love that you get to be so creative with what you have!

I need to add my flowers from the 100 flower crochetalong, kookaloo_starr!  Thanks for reminding me!
