Wulf--those hats are perfect! I certainly think the spirit of the hippies live through making clothes from whatever is available--I guess that is why the gibbous fashions seem to be so intriguing!
As I recall, the tunic type of blouses that were popular were from India and Africa--dashiki's come to mind! And anything from Peru and of course anything having to do with revolution...and going against the establishment...I wonder if it would be possible to get some gems from Laugh-in episodes? ha ha or Absolutely Fabulous?
added: lovesclutter--the mod era seemed to coincide with the hippies--Goldie Hawn, Twiggy and Nancy Sinatra with her white go-go boots..the micro mini
I think she wants the flowy dress look...I love the ones posted!
hmmmm--I think I can sneak in a few ATC's while working on my various craftalong projects...they are so easy and fun to do...ok, I am caving--off to sign up for August and revamp my list---I have so many more to collect...and to give out--I am on a watercolor and ink kick right now and also have tons of fabric scraps!
I am only decorating the "front"--the back lays across the body or on the floor anyway...however, I was going to do two complete fronts until you gave me the quicker idea to do larger panels and save the smaller pillows for another project...I think I might take one of the smaller pillows and put it across the middle of the two big panels in back and just embellish the little pillow only...I definitely would not over do the embellishment under the flap unless you would like to see it... it is fabulous---make your strap so I can see what to do next!!!
What a great pattern! I have seen similar in the new books (of course, the regular price is now about $9.00! )
Great idea to look at old patterns...I will see if I have any remaining--I think 1975 was a bit later in the period...but the style seemed to hang around a bit longer (ugh--the ugly fashions of the 1980's)...halter tops were also a big thing and hiphugger pants...
