It is not all that much--it is about the difference of the top of your bust and the top of your bra in back--maybe 5-6 inches?  I way over buy as well, but I use the leftovers for other projects like fabric bowls...I would say to measure from top of bust to how long you want it--I can make a similar dress from just the width of the fabric (45 inches around?) with elastic around the bust--so I need only one length or about 1-1/4 (I am 5'8")...you might need two lengths if you want it fuller (2-1/2 yards?)...I generally buy 3 yards of anything that I am going to make clothing with so I have options in case I change my mind...I can check on the back of the pattern envelope of the one I posted to give you an idea!  I kind of wing things myself
14832  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: What are your favorite salad toppings/ingredients? on: May 12, 2010 09:29:07 AM
all these salads sound yummy!

I like chopped parsley, tomatoes, onions, vinegar, and olive oil tossed into cous cous--I guess it is a tabooli salad?  Yummmmy!

I also like to have frozen green peas on hand...

for a cold salad: spinach, red onion, mandarin oranges, bacon and pine nuts!

balsamic vinegar is my favorite homemade dressing base...hubby prefers homemade blue cheese...I am not a big fan of commercial dressings...

I can't wait to try the Turkish Onion salad..I love Turkish food!

Thanks for the string art link!  I know how to do it on a board...but I want to make some earrings!

SharLaMarz!!!  You are my new crafting hero!  I love that you have a plan and follow through...such great projects, too!

Yarn or Fabric--I like those zippy wallets but I hate velcro but I have a snap machine that would work...I also dislike metal zippers and keep moving them out of the way...I have seen some pretty cool decorative pieces made from them and thought I would try them someday, but in reality, they are not my thing...

One of my partners received so I will post pics when I can... I hate my new photo hoster...I use Adobe Photoshop and it is just too much for me...I loved the simpler version that is no longer available Sad

yep--and if you make it like Aislynn suggests, please remember that you need to allow a longer length in front than the back!  I have seen many dresses of this style where the front is shorter than the back by quite a bit and it looks ridiculous! Wink
