14791  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Pins from recycled sweaters on: February 06, 2010 09:46:49 AM
I love all things that have to do with autum, so I adore your first pin. I too am too lazy to needle felt, but hadn't thought about buying old sweaters to use! Very smart!
Your embroidery is very good too!

aww--thanks!  Make sure you use wool sweaters...they can be felted easily in the washer. I made a few more that I like better but I can't post them yet since they went to my swap partner!
14792  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Wool Ease Thick n Quick Super Quick Cowel on: February 06, 2010 06:23:52 AM
I have always seen this yarn but did not know what to use it for...you did a lovely job and it is fast and easy as well to be able to make a few for friends and family!

I love the color and your hints on how you managed with one ball!  I think it is a perfect size!

totally buried in snow... Cheesy about 22 inches...

had to dig a small path for the dog and to get to the bird feeders and firewood

but a good day to craft...I have enough postage to send out raerae's package, provided the postal truck comes by the house...otherwise, it will probably be Monday until I can get out to the post office!  I just did not have time yesterday evening since everyone was preparing!
14794  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Altering Paper Crafts Supply Swap CLOSED SO 2/6 on: February 06, 2010 05:47:52 AM
You guys need to bookmark the post office postage calculator site!!

There is definitely is a flat rate priority mail international envelope.  It is about $14 for up to 4 pounds. You can fill it until it bulges out and the top closes on its own without tape (although I have taped them with no problem!)

The boxes are expensive but worth it...just think about how many projects can be made with what we are sending...I know if I had to spend my time hunting down old papers, bought custom papers, a few stickers, some ribbons, etc etc, it would be way over the cost of shipping!  And, what I would make and be able to give away or sell would make it even more cost effective!

Plus, I always like to make a new friend in a foreign country--it makes me feel like the world is smaller and we are all part of the same big earth family!

I am so glad you did a tutorial!  Thank you!  I love these little earrings, especially since they let you use scraps of fabric that I just can't throw out!

milady--I bet after this year, lilac will not be a color you will purchase... Cheesy

maria isabel -- can you clip your items on something like heavy cardboard the size of a notebook? I have a large 3 ring binder that I carry around with sample crafts to different stores--it fits into a messanger bag or tote...I don't sell directly from the notebook since they are samples, but you could!

Hopefully with the snow emergency, being house bound will allow me to craft without guilt...I have plans for three pieces of fabric!

I think that would be a fine thing to do! I experimented with a really soft chenille and I tied it to the quilt front for my niece (be careful not to do ties for a very small child as they might come untied and become a hazard!)--children love the soft fuzzy fabrics!
