Aww so sorry to hear, but your hubs is correct and making you rest it!  Resting allows for proper healing...I really screwed up my shoulder a few years ago and it took three years to mend completely!  I could crochet, but not knit and I had to take lots of rests...I tried to use it too soon and kept getting set backs.. be patient...you will back to embroidering soon!

KLKing is a tough cookie, so don't pay attention to her! Wink Cheesy  She would craft through a sand storm... Cheesy
14542  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: The Most Amazing Wicked Vices Altered Tin swap Gallery on: February 02, 2012 01:05:09 PM
I am so stealing the Harry Potter tin idea for a Game of Thrones tin!!  I love that all of the main characters are there and the colors evoke such emotion...nicely done!  ha ha I guess I never thought of a tv series as a vice, but after thinking about it, there are certain shows that I would skip meals for... Cheesy Love it...

I am not going to look at any more tins until I finish mine...I am second guessing myself with each tin...and I am not about to use a hammer to undo what I have already done! (ha!)

Maybe after we get more done, we could write a review of her book...Cheesy

I am so curious now that I have to try the rose... Cheesy

I also love the leaves...I wish I could quit my job and play all day long! Cheesy
14544  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Discussion and Questions / Re: Best Place to put Gussets in Bodice of These Dresses? on: February 02, 2012 12:54:27 PM
On the brown dress/top, it looks like you could use some shirring/gathers UNDERNEATH and not just in the center...it will round out the cups of the dress and hold the girls in place and give them more room...I would also lengthen that portion about two inches so they fall UNDER your boobs and not where they currently are...a dart from under your arm to the fullest part of your boob pointing downward would also give you awesome shaping...if you got 'em, flaunt them! Cheesy  You might want to use the dress as a pattern on paper or old sheets first, test the fit and how it looks...I am constantly pinning paper to myself to get the right fit (isn't that why we sew?) Cheesy

On the striped on --how about cutting out a "V" in the center of the bust, inserting a nice colorful fabric...it would put the attention in a better place and the focus would be on your face and bust while releasing the girls from their tight fit! Cheesy...you could even take that "V" down to about your belly button...it would almost make it nautical, which is big this year!  Add some cute buttons on the straps or along the "V"...

Good luck and have fun reconning your clothing to make them the best they can be for you!

The detailed stitching on the belt really made this dress go from "meh" to "wow"!

You have a terrific figure, so showing it off with a belt was a good move---highlighting a tiny waist!

The whole look is modern and fresh...thanks for sharing your re-do!

awww CLM...it does almost seem futile...I found 22 pairs of jeans in my candle closet!!!  I know I was saving them for a quilt, but the thought of cutting them all up just depressed me so I shoved them back in... Sad

I want to stay positive and make happy fun things, not stuff because I saved too much junk in my past! Cheesy

I am pretending that I have to move in three months to a tiny condo on the beach...what crafting stuff would I take? Cheesy  It makes it a lot easier to let go! Cheesy

wow is right...plus, denim is a bear to sew...I am sorry your grandma passed before she was able to finish her quilts...I think that is one of my biggest fears...so I am motivated to finish all of my wips before starting any new quilts...I am sure my nephews would just trash all of the unfinished ones ! Sad

Now that is a lovely surprise!!!  Of course, it means more destashing...*sigh*...I think we are all destined to be stuck in this thread forever...

oh--I see--you had already put on the pieces!  I thought you were just figuring out how to do it...I can "see" what you mean now...if you had enough paper to match up the prints, it might not be seen at all...

I think these small scale houses can be as perfect or imperfect as you want!  Small, nice details are part of why I love this craftalong...I can't wait to see your progress shots!
