The largest quilt I have done on my own was a queen sized one...I struggled with it and swore I would never do one that size again!  But, I lied to myself and did it again a few times! Cheesy

Around here, I expect to pay about $200 to have it done...but I sort of like the wonky, handmade look of my quilts so I have not used this service...I no longer hand sew my binding...I machine stitch it all, sometimes straight stitch, sometimes zig-zag or decorative...since I expect a lot of washings and use from my quilts, I felt it was the best choice for me!

ha ha fiddlegirl8--maremare is in my will to get to my unfinished quilts and my fabric stash! Cheesy  Bribe her! Wink

oh!! Kale chips--great suggestion...as a matter of fact, I think I will make sweet potato chips as well...thanks!

Yeah, when I first start drinking the water , I get that bloated feeling, but in a few days, I get back to normal..you have to do what feels good to you!

Love the tote bag fabric and the curlers!  Nice swap items!

You can do an altered clock!  I bought a cheap wall clock, plain white and black...I plan to alter it to fit in my craftroom!

CLM--I use the Mayo Clinic info on the amount of water that I need to drink for my body size and activities I do...about 20% of water comes from the foods I eat, but because of my activity level and I do drink coffee and tea, which actually dehydrates you a bit more, I feel that I need about 9 glasses a day.  In addition, I know that a lot of times, what I think is hunger is really thirst, so a reminder bracelet is mostly to remind me to drink first and then see if I am really hungry...

I agree overdoing the water thing can dilute vitamins and other nutrients, but that amount is really really a lot more than most people would drink without forcing it...8 glasses is doable over a 16 hour day (sleep accounting for the other 8 hours, which, unless you drink in your sleep, does not count!:D)

There is so much information out there that we all have to count on moderation and careful research...I think the things we are trying to do here is more reality based and doable stuff that is better than most things...I will eat a Twinkie once in a while even though I know it is probably akin to eating plastic...I doubt that I will ever give up any one food no matter what someone says about it, because, even researchers disagree and info changes daily...

My goal is as healthy as I realistically can be...and moderation!

(ha remember our discussion on refrigerating rice? That was fun!  I still do not refrigerate my cooked rice and never have in 40 years...Wink )  but, I digress...sorry

What is a good crunchy, "I feel like a squirrel and just want to nibble" healthier snack other than veggies?  This is my weakness!
14395  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: 50+ Wash Cloths-along- Active (updated Jan. 2012) on: February 03, 2012 06:43:53 AM
We are on the same wavelength lately!  I took out some cotton yarn to make washcloths and realized that I really was bored with my patterns...I started and frogged about four times before I gave up...I am glad I saw your signature link!!!

I am read to crochet some new washcloths and throw out some of my grubbier ones! Cheesy

You must be reading my mind!  ha ha I also bought Fels Naptha soap at the Ace!!! I know there are some good tutorials for laundry soap...especially since I have such hard well water!!  ha ha I am excited for the weekend to get enough dishes in the dishwasher to wash (with just two of us, it takes about a week!)...

I do have a lot of borax and washing soda left...so I am going to google to see what else can be made with it...

The initial investment of the supplies for me was about $20. I will be curious to see if I save money as well as having a product that is safe and will do a better job!

Oh yes---your drawing shows all the places for adjustments: longer, more room on the sides, flattering gathers or darts for the girls --I think you are on the right track!

I love the idea of reversing the stripes down the "V"...that would be cute!

I can't wait to see what you do!

Aww so sorry to hear, but your hubs is correct and making you rest it!  Resting allows for proper healing...I really screwed up my shoulder a few years ago and it took three years to mend completely!  I could crochet, but not knit and I had to take lots of rests...I tried to use it too soon and kept getting set backs.. be patient...you will back to embroidering soon!

KLKing is a tough cookie, so don't pay attention to her! Wink Cheesy  She would craft through a sand storm... Cheesy
14400  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: The Most Amazing Wicked Vices Altered Tin swap Gallery on: February 02, 2012 01:05:09 PM
I am so stealing the Harry Potter tin idea for a Game of Thrones tin!!  I love that all of the main characters are there and the colors evoke such emotion...nicely done!  ha ha I guess I never thought of a tv series as a vice, but after thinking about it, there are certain shows that I would skip meals for... Cheesy Love it...

I am not going to look at any more tins until I finish mine...I am second guessing myself with each tin...and I am not about to use a hammer to undo what I have already done! (ha!)
