thanks for all of the tips and for the links!! I had no idea how great the colors turn out with kool aid!

I think I will test a small batch with various colors to see which one best covers the ugly light brown...I bet there will be some nice surprises!  Can't wait to get off work to go buy kool aid!

Actually, I was wondering if it was ok to dye wool--I was worrying about the shrinkage...is the kool aid a cold dye process?  I know the rit dye says to use boiling water...so I guess to dye my yarn I am going to have to unwind the balls into something like shanks? It is worth the effort since I have almost three balls of it sitting around in their ugliness.. Cheesy

Love the little sweaters and also how large it is...and the shredded wheat roof...I love it all!

What lovely yarn--I never thought to dye ugly reclaimed yarn!  I have a huge ball of light brown yarn from a frogged sweater that I just can't get into the color...I bet it would dye a dark green!

I finally got sick and tired of all those little balls of yarn I had leftover from other projects so I knit a lot of them into one big scarf--twice!  I did the whole thing in garter stitch and hated it...so I switched to stockinette and now it is blocked and drying...It did not make a huge dent physically, but mentally, I feel like those little balls of annoyance are gone! Cheesy

Egads--I am behind!  Tonight I hope to have pictures posted...I have been doing way too much mindless knitting...what a great way to relieve stress...

My poor old furnace is not putting out heat again, so I have holed myself into my little room with a space heater...knitting keeps me from thinking of what it is going to cost to replace...I will start working on these little motifs before I get too far behind!

Keep them coming, ladies!

MIO--thank you so much for posting the weekly group on the first page!  You are so well organized that it makes me organized a little bit more!

What lovely colors Grimmscreed!

Quilting is an addictive hobby!  I almost regret teaching people sometimes because I know they will fall in love with it! Cheesy

Are they quilted or patchwork?  I so not see any quilt stitches is why I ask...

superhooker, I also do dishes by hand even though I have two dishwashers...there is something calming and old-fashioned about it...it also is a quick way to feel like I did some housework... Cheesy

What lovely destash items!

Love the ornaments!

That hat is perfect for a few things I need to knit this year...

also, loved the project notebooks--great organizing idea!

I also like the idea of using eyelash on the edges of an afghan!  Such lovely colors!

I have tons of small kimono scraps that would be perfect for kanzashi...I made a few DIY kits about three years ago that I think I still have lying around...they always can be used to add to knit items, purses, hair accessories, etc.

I made lots of scarves out of stash...as soon as I charge up the camera batteries, I will load them up! Cheesy

ha ha sometimes the best color combos come from what we have in our stash and what we have to make do...I am finding that since I have been working out of my stash, I have become much more creative! Cheesy

Nice how it worked out and that your friend loved your special gift!
