Great pages so far--I collect fabrics and as long as I cut myself a little piece, I can use it...same with yarn and paper (yeah, yeah--some sort of obsessive/compusliveness!)...

I have been working on a fiber book for a few years...maybe a craftalong will get it moving faster!

It seems to be working with the chunky book craftalong!

Ok--I am doing this!! Probably going to do a mix of standard quilt patterns and collage...I like what I have seen so far

noooo--your cover is totally mesmerizing!!  I am going to have to think of something special for a cover!

aw thanks--it is fun to venture outside the comfort zone...and now I have another hobby to keep me busy in the winter besides knitting!

oh! thanks a lot!  I learn so much better seeing it done than reading about it!

I just logged into the videos!!  I will probably be trying a few of her hats this week! She sure makes it look easy and answers the basics!

This helps a lot!!

I like how you are showing various techniques!

The hearts and roses are wonderful and I especially like the bird using the image transfering!

OK--I decided to move ahead using the last bit of gel medium I found in my old room...

I am doing a theme book about my babyhood in Japan...here is my first page:

The pic of me and my dad is on a page from my first passport...the coin is a 5 cent good luck coin...I was born in Yokohama so I put a piece of map on the page

Close up of the distressed paper background:

I have some other embellishments to add, but I need to wait to finish the other pages to see how much room I have left--that is one of the limitations of using a prebound book...

14146  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: 3 X 3 (9 card spread) ATC swap - Mail by Feb 6th on: January 24, 2010 07:13:02 PM
I bought the 9 card holders at Walmart today along with three packs of ATC plastic envelopes!

I am excited to see all 9 together...I made two this weekend using a "mistake" technique called "trying to rub off glued down paper with a wet finger"--ha ha -- I love how they turned out!!!

ha ha- I just saw a cute black and pink hat with shell stitches--I wasn't sure, so thanks for verifying that...

I was trying to follow a hat pattern from a lovely fellow craftster but I must not have been doing it correctly because I got sort of a big round flat potholder looking thing...I tried it three times and just gave up, which forced me to make this hat...I love it even if it is a bit lopsided! ha

Very cute Casey1201!

I like the length! The waistband looks comfy, too!

Thanks! I appreciate little tips like that...

this is really embarrassing to ask, but is the hat inside out?  I am not sure which side is suppose to be the outside--is it the side that faces me when I crochet?  I have looked at both sides and really can't tell the difference...

I can tell easily with knitting, but for some reason, crochet looks the same...
