kittykill--I know you have done some beautiful embroideries on vintage linens...you could do spiders for Halloween! Cheesy

laughing_lark--are you doing ok after your surgery?  I know that when I had my appendix out, it took over two months to fully heal...and sometimes I still think I feel some pain!

Anyway, get those projects done--you are so close!  I think for April, one of the themes is going to be WIPS!

What a cute idea for random acts, graced!  You do know we have an entire craftalong for just random acts of kindness? Cheesy

This winter I did a similar thing with hats...I just packaged them up with a note to use or pass it on...and left them on various cars in the parking lot of the mall...it was fun!

I hate seeing delicious yarns...I think it is a sign that I am suppose to learn to spin this year (coconut spindle, luscious yarn, Fiber Friday...gaaaah)

This is awesome graced!  I definitely do not miss the pine pollen in Atlanta!

I think whoever finds this is going to be pleased!

oh no--yep--varnishes contain chemicals that will definitely interact and destroy some paints and inks...I normally spray Scotchguard on my purses, but the last one I did had fabric paint and sharpies and I was afraid it would eat it away...oh no...hope you can fix it...or else, reschedule a mail out with your partner! Wink
13277  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Whoopie Pie Recipe ...You'll Thank Me Later! on: March 25, 2011 07:19:49 AM
We Americans do tend to use familiar name brands and forget that those members in other countries might not have access to those brands; however, I have found while traveling that most of the brands we are familiar with are also commonplace, even in remote areas Cheesy...by googling Crisco, you can see the alternatives and make your translations and selections.

I think it is great to adapt to whatever is available, and as a basically non-cook, I appreciate the support and information provided by the members here!  I think this recipe might be a good one to use to take to the Volunteer firefighters here...that way, I won't ruin my diet by eating them all! Just one... Cheesy

I hate that the spring yarns are calling my name...all the winter yarns have been carefully packed away and everything that I don't want any longer has gone to new homes...I feel good that I am only buying yarn if I have a specific project in mind...I have project bags now with the yarn, pattern and needles all segregated and ready to go...I know this destashing thread has got me to this point, and I am grateful!  It is so much easier and faster for me to craft now...

Next, fabrics and ribbons... Cheesy

I am a fan of the pom pom! Cheesy  Those colors are quite lovely...I have yet to experiment with other stitches on the KK..I love how you are experimenting with so much, laughing lark!

I think it is great of you to help memorialize a person's passion by reviving something they made...when I go to auctions or flea markets, I like to get as much info as I can about a piece so that I can know what needs to be done with it...I can't wait to see more of your projects...they are a wonderful tribute to those of the past, present and future!

I am currently working on revamping some beautiful crochet work done by my Japanese aunties and grandmother...I can tell they used their pieces daily as they are worn and discolored...hopefully, with some dyes and creative stitching, I can save them for someone to find in a charity shop someday! Cheesy
