lovely fabric -- ha ha --the colors go with your bath, moilulu!  How nice to include your kids!!

Sounds like both of the newbie seamstresses had good experiences, sarush!  Thank goodness your sewing machine is OK...you are going to need it for round three!!

very cute vegbee!! I like how it is not too full at the bottom!  Your shirring also looks looser, which probably makes a nice comfy fit--thanks for sharing how much you had to use...this is so cute for summer!

Very cute top! I smock baby dresses but they are meant to be quite full on the bottom--you friend probably does not want to look fatter or preggers...I would say that you need at least 2 times the finished desired measurement, but generally, I do 3-4 times...

I noticed that a lot of the fabric stores have this type of fabric already pre-shirred--has anyone tried any of those?  It looks like all you do is wrap the piece around your waist (if you are making a skirt!) or bust and sew one seam!!  You could go and measure the unshirred part to see how much fabric you need to do your own shirring?

I like the button loop idea!! I am stealing it inspired by it!

I just another post--the person received an apron in the swap and could not imagine how she lived without one before! Cheesy

I love the big pocket on the apron--that is one of my favorite styles--a big old bib for messy me!! ha ha

and the action shot is precious--I guess an apron would also be handy for a mom who needs to slip things into that big old pocket and keep clothes clean from baby spit ups!

wonderful job!

I totally think you could use buttons--on commercial hoodies, I also hate the bunching of the zipper--makes you look like you have a poochie tummy!

Preshrinking is always a good idea if the fabric is questionable...espe cially knits!  Also, I loosen the tension a bit and do not sew the zipper directly to the hoodie--I sew it to scraps and then sew the scraps to the hoodie, if that makes sense...a little extra work, but the zipper lies so much flatter...

I can't wait to see how the buttons work out!!  It will be cute and you have lots of button choices!  Good luck!
