What a creative weekend it was!

I love the ladybug scarf!  My younger sister loved ladybugs when we were growing up...I thought she still did and used to go out of my way to find her ladybug things...but a few years ago, she told me she no longer is into ladybugs...darn! Maybe a niece has fallen in love with ladybugs...I love it!

sheepblue--your mixed media piece is awesome! How did you attach the fabric bits?

aliasgracie--you did great on your wallet! Fat quarters were set up mainly for quilters...they were the perfect size to cut the quilt pieces into the standard sizes with the least amount of waste...

Your dragon is also nice!

Troublet--congrats on your great tutorials...you know I will be using them! Wink

I managed to crochet another luna scarf out of the yarn that I received on Friday..I also finished up the other wristwarmer (I tend to only make one and lose interest!)...I really do need to write down the instructions as I go...It would be faster and one would not be slightly bigger than the other! 13192  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Patchwork Sampler Blanket/Pillow Knitalong! on: February 21, 2011 07:09:11 AM
KLKing--I am obsessed with your knitting blocks!  I printed out all of your instructions and even got some nice solid colors to try them out!  The squared leaf one is just gorgeous!

I hope to get some time to make quite a few of them while I am watching shows...right now I am knitting a scarf for a friend...if I don't get it done in the next few days, I am afraid that he will have no use for it until next winter! Cheesy

The cowl is gorgeous--the stitches are so pretty and definitely one that will keep you warm!

I love the cute headband and hat..and the Kuromi cozy is very special!  The expression is perfect!

I definitely need to try out all of the various goodies from this swap!  Sea Salt dark chocolate?

I want to thank the two lovely organizers for making this a wonderful swap for me...each day as I bring my coffee I think fondly of all the great gifts everyone made and my own lovely partner!  Thanks everyone! Cheesy

Troublet--your scrubbies always turn out so nicely!

The shirt is also nicely done...I have a few rolls of freezer paper that beg me to try stencilling (but I put in ear plugs so I don't hear... Cheesy)

Nicely done and thoughtful gifts!

qazicat--I love your little Valentine UFO/now finished!  The poppies card is also so lovely!

I saw those little teddy bears in the Blythe thread...so jealous that I did not join that thread, but you did inspire me to knit some glittery goodness for mine...I have no reason to have a Blythe house, but I want one just to furnish with tiny things Cheesy

I am in awe of the fiber stash...reminds me of why I no longer have a spinning wheel...omg...I thought yarn was hard to stash away...what an awesome stash--can't wait to see what you make!

I am preparing my winter yarns for storage...I made a list of the projects I want to get done before the end of March (winter!) and will then begin my spring/summer projects...

I added 30 skeins of yarn to my stash but since only three have no set plan, I think I am doing well...

I did unravel three projects I made in prior years (have you ever made things and realized that you will never wear them?)...

kittymom13--my flannel stash calls out to me now that I have seen how quick and useful your projects are!

I hope you get a freaking good mark in your class!!

How creative of you...I bet it was a hit!

Was there a scramble to pick out certain ones? Cheesy

I want the Rh and the Au...or maybe the Ti Cheesy
13197  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: How often do you use patterns?? on: February 18, 2011 12:23:58 PM
I tend to always use basic patterns as a start--I have a whole set of Vogue basics (a0line skirt, pencil skirt, trousers, shell top, etc) that I had laminated after I modified them to fit perfectly...I also have various shells I made from muslin that I keep on hangers for fussy fittings...

to be honest, I am using more and more commercial patterns because for 1.99 cents, it is not worth my time to start from scratch Wink especially if the fit is not the critical...

I am guessing that I have a little over 50 store bought patterns (a lot are still in the envelopes because I change my mind a lot!)...

I admire people who have the knack to just cut away!
13198  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: I want to make this dress... any suggestions for patterns? on: February 18, 2011 12:17:07 PM
Search through the online pattern books and see if you can find something similar...it might already be out there

It is cute and the sleeves look very interesting...the shape appears to be a basic shift with darts at the waist to cause the pleating in the skirt...

I am sure you can find something to get you started if you research the patterns book a bit

All that fit in that purse!!??  wow... a lined crochet purse is such a nice thing!

The beaded zipper pouch is gorgeous! I had to go look at the bigger picture to see the details--fabulous!
