13181  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Patchwork Sampler Blanket/Pillow Knitalong! on: February 21, 2011 01:11:11 PM
I actually have a square going but I loved the stitch so much that I decided to make a scarf for a friend of mine using the stitch! Cheesy

I just "inherited" a few more balls of yarn so I should have plenty to work with...Yofi--I love your pattern writing style...it is like knitting to a song...I have actually used a tape recorder on patterns to have the directions said out loud..I love the rhythm in knitting...

bananaleg--the great thing about being a crafting person is that you can make things to suit your needs and style!  What a perfect little on the go holder for you with wonderful memories as well...I love that you used a button from your UNCLE's stash!! Cheesy

such beautiful vintage pieces!

I soak cotton balls in hydrogen peroxide and lay them on the stain...in desperation, I have used bleach gel (figure I had nothing to lose!) and it worked!  Careful though, all of those things weaken the original fabric (so they say...I think the vintage stuff is pretty tough, though!) Cheesy

They would make lovely tops or children's clothing!  Can't wait to see!
13184  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Patchwork Sampler Blanket/Pillow Knitalong! on: February 21, 2011 09:03:08 AM
I knit all through tax season and then I sew... Cheesy

I would love to get a few of the blocks done before it is garden season...I just have to pick the ones that I love the MOST (the leaves!)... and the butterflies....

Wow--I think sometimes I forget how a simple design can still look stunning!

I think they will love it!
13186  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: The Awesome Swap Gallery of the "Be Awesome" Swap on: February 21, 2011 08:20:48 AM
What a great way to start of this gallery!  I love the mix of fabric and paint...and the subject matter does seem almost like another planet mysterious...love it!

The goodies in the matchbook box are wonderful!  What a lovely design on the box--your partner is very talented and thoughtful--I wish I had done that swap! Cheesy

Love the solar system necklace...and the pouch fabric is perfect for this swap!  I can't believe how versatile your partner is with the skills--from sewing to jewelry making!

Yarn or Thread--you are going to push me into doing the Mini art quilt swap... Cheesy

The coiled bag is so unique!  I know it was a labor of love and patience!

All of the accessories are also so useful and cute!  I love those coin purses and the little sewing kit!

Those felt envelopes are great!  I also loved the tutorial on the fused bag...I am so glad I did not finally throw out all my colorful plastic bags that I was going to crochet...I think I would like the fused bags better!

I am working on making some knitted glittery ornament boxes...they are slow because I am using a size 1 needle...very tiny stitching!  I want to make about 10 before Christmas to give away...I have one almost done! Cheesy

13190  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Trio of trees on: February 21, 2011 07:44:20 AM
They turned out great!  I love how you did the sky!

Are the little flowers buttons?  They are such a cute detail.
