1  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: Oil painting number eight, tea tin and oranges..last in the series on: Today at 03:53:23 PM
I also like this one a lot!  You definitely can tell that you have made a lot of progress and will continue to do so as you paint in any medium!

The oranges look particularly nice...this and the pears are would make nice art for your kitchen!  You might have to re-take it from your daughter! Grin

I would do all blue for you! Grin

Thanks for the very clear pressing instructions!
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Socks (two pairs) on: Today at 12:47:08 PM
Today you seem to be posting projects that I also have started and never finished...The Time Traveler sock!

Yours turned out so nicely!!  I have one done...maybe before the end of next year I will finish the other...I love the pattern!

Your colorful socks also turned out nicely!

Those are all fabulous, waterbaby!  Now I am getting excited about this one!

I should have been more clear...Grin.  I know what pressing is vs. ironing...uh, I would hope after 50 years of sewing and quilting... Grin...

What I should have asked is: what is mean by pressing the alternate strips?  Does she mean after sewing them together that one seam gets pressed one direction and the other seam get pressed the other way?  I might join you, sloth,  in pressing the seams open...it might give people more options than my normal way of pressing to one direction...

I am so jealous that you finished this scarf!!!  I have been working on mine for over 5 years now!

Such a tedious stitch, but the results are fabulous!

Beautiful job!

I agree sloth...when I read the instructions, they give hints on providing contrast...and I think that is what makes the diamond pattern, not the fabrics...the contrast of light and dark...so I am going to make sure I do scrappy and would like the same!

Also, can someone explain what they mean about the pressing?  Or show me?  I hate it when the seams don't lock or are bulky, so I want to do the pressing correctly.

Do you want each person to specify whether or not they want all four blocks to be identical from one partner?

The more I look at the quilt link, the better I love the scrappy look!  I don't think they need to be the same...

Thanks for organizing this...I need a new swap project after Thanksgiving!  This looks fun!

With the new movie coming out, everyone is excited for Star Wars stuff again!

I bookmarked this pattern and now I am sure that all of the kids are going to want one!  Thanks again for the pattern...maybe I will have time to get started while everyone is watching football this holiday weekend! Grin

The belt is especially stunning...all of your costumes just felt like you transported back in time!
10  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: TV Tray Turned Pressing Table on: November 23, 2015 06:59:29 PM
Excellent tutorial!  Your pictures really show the process clearly!

I have a table that I got from my sister to make one of these, but I was not sure of all the steps!

Even though my ironing board is up all the time, a nice little table next to my machine for such things as paper piecing would be so much easier!

Thanks for posting your lovely project!
