lol Amazon!  Yes, those are minor points! ha ha

A lot of the more traditional groups around here don't use the internet at all so it is a huge hurdle for me...I sometimes have nothing to say that does not include the words "I was inspired by a quilt I saw on Pinterest!" Grin

We are lucky to have a group of fun and friendly quilters of all levels on Craftster!
4  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Superhero Alphabet Sampler (My Sistine Chapel) on: Today at 09:27:57 AM
Beautiful!  I bought this pattern a few years ago and have only managed to do single letters (L for Luca, M for Micah, etc.)..I can't imagine doing the whole alphabet!!!  It is striking done all together...

Congrats--your hard work paid off!

I have to get on this!  sloth--very intriguing...free form quilting...only you and your imagination could possibly put all those things together...so exciting, though!

I live in Amish country so a lot of the quilters around here are very old school and traditional.  I love the tradition and I love the beautiful quilts, but I love the bright modern fabrics and wild patterns, too!  I sort of taught myself how to do a lot of the math stuff, so I am still learning the "official" names of patterns that many of these quilters around here have memorized!  I am sort of feeling the same thing with my knitting group...I am the youngest at 62!!!  At the suggestion of MareMare, I attended a few meetings with a Modern Quilt Guild. There is a lot of clickishness in this group as well, especially when it comes to colors and patterns.  Heaven forbid if you don't think every quilt needs turquoise or orange! ha ha  So, I sort of quilt alone...I will continue to be open to any groups forming--I just think you have to find the right group, if you are a group person.

lol sloth  "thimbleberries"...I feel exactly the same of you there...
8  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: HP Craftalong ~ Winter Semester - Dec 1 - Feb 28, 2015 on: Today at 09:10:56 AM
alwaysinmyroom- thanks for the suggestions. we've gone back and forth about the island and the microwave. in the old kitchen, we are always in each others way, so seperating the microwave from the stove will help. it's hard to know how big is to big with the work triangle. our table is off the other end of this room, and i liked the idea of being able to extend it into the kitchen when we have company, but that's only a couple times a year. i've also thought about using something movable as an island....i can imagine that a prep sink would be really handy though....

The best thing about remodeling is that you can do it how your family actually lives!  I know it is going to be awesome for you!  I got new faucets today for my two kitchen sinks...each day, there is something new, but the big parts are mostly done...I can't wait to paint and make curtains!  lol Any ideas for a small bathroom?  That is next! ha ha  It never ends!
