Yes, LBABB--I do cut up the pages that I don't really want to frame or hang up...

I scan my cards from swaps...when I get old, I want to read them... Grin.

I use a lot of cards to make more cards or for my collage work...and a lot of cards are on my studio walls...

I used some stashed note cards to make these simple cards to send in swaps...I have no idea why I have such a huge stockpile of note cards, but it has to be reduced!  One of the cards is PINK! Grin

23  Coloring Book Cats--then what? in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by alwaysinmyroom on: May 06, 2016 06:43:10 AM
I am absolutely obsessed with coloring books...I find that is is relaxing and helps me get creative and motivate to make other projects if I spend a little time coloring...I also love to experiment with pens, pencils, paint, markers, gel writers, glitter, etc.

In the Sunshine Swap, ChameleonHound sent me the cutest coloring book with cats...I colored a page the first day, using gel pens and glitter pens...well, after you color pages, then what?

I am using some of the pages to make junk journals, and I also cut some pages up to make notecards...

I decided to cut out each of the kitties and glue them on card stock to make notecards that I can use in swaps, etc.  Simple and fun!

Close-ups fo my favorites:

What do you guys do with your pages? Grin

Thanks, lindy...for the compliment and the idea! Grin

Yellow is actually my least favorite color, but, it grew on me...and now, I find that I actually want some yellow in my life, so I might be painting my craft room yellow this summer, lol...

And, speaking about yellow, here are the fingerless mitts I made for the swap... and some dishtowels I embellished with fabric...

ChameleonHound sent me a cute cat coloring book...I colored a page and then made myself some much needed notecards...

Those Jello cookies sound yummy...and they look filling!

We have some ducks nesting under the pines on our property...they come back each year...I can't wait to see the little ones!

I took these images from my partner in the Sunshine Swap...she took better pictures than I did! Grin

Coiled Fabric Bowl....I love making these...so relaxing and surprising.  I used 12 different yellow fabrics of all shades...
The face is made from clay and then colored with enamel paint that I rubbed off.  I did not want it too "smiley face" yellow..

I made her a suncatcher...you might remember that I made a few of these last year after lindy posted one she made...it is now one of my favorite things to give as a gift to people...

My partner wanted something squishy so I made her a mini Ninni...

My last prayer flag was received and I also had to make one for myself..Grin.

I used the fabric I made earlier and cut it into prayer flag size and embellished it.  I needed something cheerful to hang up as our spring seems to be rainy and reary...

Here is the one I made for Abbeeroad.  It is made from some old denim and batik fabrics in reverse applique.

27  Re: Box of Sunshine Round 2 in The Swap Gallery by alwaysinmyroom on: April 30, 2016 06:35:47 AM
I received my box of sunshine just when I needed it!  This has been a trying week, so a little cheerfulness was greatly appreciated!  I was going to wait for a nice sunny day to take pictures, but according to hubby, that could be a while!  Cry

A bit of a funny back story---apparently, when I set up my PINTEREST Sunshine board, I had two...one was secret and that is where I loaded most of the pictures for this swap!  Poor ChameleonHound...she had only one thing to look at on the first board that I set up...wreaths! lol

Well, I did not mean to limit her to wreaths, but I am super glad she did not mind!  I really needed a spring wreath for our studio door where the students come for lessons (they expect it each season!)...

So, here is my awesome spring wreath...she included a fairy door that I used as a back drop in the wreath pictures...I may or may not use it this way...I have a fairy garden I am also working on for the kids...oh, and the wreath lights up!  I could not get a good pic of that, but...

Here is the door separately...perfect for what I need!

She also sent a bunch of extras (and some fell out of the coloring book, which is my new obsession...)...bee washi tape, cool metallic paper, seeds, a paper for me to use in collage work, stickers, fabric fat quarters, and a cool cracker that is suppose to be used outside (I assume it has glitter or other stuff that should not scatter in the house! Grin)...

Thanks so much for my happy spring box!  And, you know I also appreciate the ribbons and the card!  I am known to use everything! Grin

Abbeeroad and I have swapped a few times...so I think we challenge each other to come up with fabric pages and prayer flags that are different in technique  or that are of different designs.  Well, this round, she delivered!  She chose my word "EXPLORE".  Not only did I get some her metal, I got some cool painted and stitch fabric.  The two circles are her take on looking through binoculars to see the world out there...

I also love the additional fabric added to give the fringe ends.

A close up of the wonderful metal and painted scenery!

I made my own flag using some handmade fabric from leftover quilt scraps and threads. I needed something sunny to help me believe it is spring since our weather is so rainy and dreary:

I love this swap and was very pleased with the variety I got from ALL my partners! Grin

Thanks, Wulf, for hosting this creative and challenging swap!

29  Re: Yet Another TM Patch Swap R6- Gallery in The Swap Gallery by alwaysinmyroom on: April 26, 2016 12:23:25 PM
I received some wonderful TM patches from DaphadillyArt!

I didn't think I was going to post them today as I had election duty and no camera...but, I scanned them into a printer..

Here they are!  Love the two little birdies and the tiny ladybugs....but my favorite is my initial!  I am going to use that one in the front cover of my journal!

ha ha Aren't those two birds just so goofy cute?  Thanks so much for swapping with me and adding to my journal cover!

I finished both of Prayer flags for a swap, but I still have to make one for myself, which I find the hardest!

Here is one I sent and which was received. Lots and lots of stitching.  I used a vintage hanky for the back and for the lace.  I love making these.  For those of you who want to play with fabrics, might I suggest the Fabric Journal Pages Swap?  Really, you can't believe how fun and easy it is to create so many different ways with fabric!
