Block #4--my favorite so far!  It is called the heart rose!

Block #5

I have done at least one of each of the blocks now! YAY!  I'll be like bethntim working on the multiples...people at work are going to keep the pressure on me to finish since they have seen all of the blocks as well! Grin

Block #1--it actually is more plum than this--I had to add a row of sc to make it the same size as the other blocks

Block #7--I did dc instead of sc in the first row of black...the block was too wonky and would not stay in shape

almost done with #4...once I finish one of each, I will probably slow down and work on the multiples over the next few month... Grin

Love all of thes colorful blocks together so far!

I only took a couple of pictures.

I started out by cutting out bases from old recipe cards that belonged to my dad.  He loved getting his weekly cards way back in the 1970's!  He made a few of the recipes but after he collected them all, he sort of lost interest and moved on to collecting wild life cards...I think he just loved getting mail! Grin

Anyway, I coated them with gesso, then red paint, some silver metallic paint...after they were dry, I stamped them, inked them, highlighted them with white and added one of my favorite pictures.  My sister loves taking selfies when I visit her. I just cut her out of the picture using picmonkey, duplicated it and printed it out on my printer.

I then balled up wax paper and buffed each piece with it to give it a bit of a wax coating.  That is why I also sent them in wax paper...Grin.

I then made a sheet of "facts"...at the last minute, I dirtied them up and added some things handwritten. Yeah, I am messy! Grin

They are each a bit different in where I placed my username, picture etc. So glad we only had 27 to do this round! Grin

I had loads of fun making these and can't wait to get the rest of my collection.

Here is my block #6. I loved how this one turned out. 5 more of these to go...and yeah, I am doing the blocks out of order depending on my mood, but I do find doing all the blocks of one pattern is faster, but kinda boring...

Block #3!  Once I got the hang of it, it went pretty quickly.  I think I am going to finish the other 3 blocks of this same design while I have it memorized!

I think I am going to switch out the purpley plum for a more fuschia colored yarn.  I like the pinker look of the original.

I'll save this block for another project.

27  Re: Dr Who Scarf in Knitting: Completed Projects by alwaysinmyroom on: July 20, 2016 10:09:54 AM
I am SO GLAD that I am NOT the only one who made one of these scarves that turned out crazy long!

I wonder what is up with these patterns that are written so wrong? Huh

The original scarf is suppose to be between 14-16 feet long...the original was knit using size 7 needles...there are all sorts of blogs and things about how to get your scarf "certified"...they check the colors, number of rows, measure it, etc.  I did mine for fun so I really was not into that...I do know I followed the pattern exactly and got the colors in order.  Not sure if I might have missed a row count or not, but, bleh...never again!

Your yarn is quite lovely!

I am really impressed with your knit hat!

I have been knitting like crazy...made three hats and a shrug.  Working on another crochet shawl.  Just have to take pics when it cools down a bit.

Here are the TM patches I made for a swap:

Tons of tiny stitches around the little bees...

The lace is from an old vintage nightgown.

I bleached and painted the background fabric on the Yoda. I basically found a picture of Yoda, cut out a felt piece and started stitching. He is my favorite!

Glad you like your patches, jkaywiz!  I enjoyed making them.  I love Star Wars and am so glad you had that on your list of themes!

Here are the pics turned around.  And, I also included the vintage one.

I love those badges and can see them on your fabulous jacket, RA!!

Here are my fabulous badges from jkaywiz!

I have been wanting to make a scrapbook of all of my fun notes and odd things about the Dr. Who series that I have been watching since I was a kid!  I can't believe it is still around...I have a small collection of TM patches on my Dr. Who theme, so I was delighted to receive two more!!!

Here is the famous Sonic screwdriver...with a perfect quote from one of my favorite episodes... Grin.

I am working on a Dr. Who quilt.  It is an embroidered quilt with free patterns from fandominstitches.com.  Jkaywiz found a perfect pattern to make me this Weeping Angel!  The stitches are perfect!

Finally, in my theme of black cats (because I have two bad ass black toms..)  My hubby wants this one, but he can't have it...

Thank you so much for these fabulous patches!
