Your children are adorable!  I love those pre-shirred fabrics!  You can make a dress or top so quickly!

Cute kiddie fabrics!  Anne, what type of things do you like to sew?

Well, yesterday was a good mail day for me!

This is weird, but I received the most incredible mermaid altered spool from rackycoo yesterday...and then, when I opened up my package from underthemountain, I got this!!!:

She actually sent me three lovely pieces of jewelry...I am going to have to buy more clothes just to wear all of the fabulous jewelry I have been receiving from this swap!!

The little bee pin has watch parts...so steampunk!!  The pendant will go nicely with an aqua t-shirt I just got...oh, and the mermaid cameo can be worn as a pin or a pendant!!

Thanks, Rox!!!!

I feel like I just won the Altered Spool lottery!  I received mine yesterday from rackycoo..and I win, hands down! Grin

May I present my own little mermaid!

Racky teased me by stating that she was using an ugly pair of earrings...do you know what the earrings are now?  Take a guess...

Love the tiny shell bra and the sequin scales!

Here she is displayed in all of her glory!

Thank you, rackycoo...btw--you do know this is our first official swap after all of these years? Grin

sorry--had to brag a little about lindy321 and sheepblue...and also kittykill...here is the coffee area of my kitchen...recognize the art work? Grin

Also, here is how I am displaying the spider sheepblue sent to me:

ha ha When anyone goes for the hall light, they better watch out! Grin

AND...I made a globe for the garden using a Craftster video tutorial!! It really sparkles a lot more, but I got the picture right when it was starting to rain...

I received from sheepblue and lindy321!  What two awesome partners!

I am sure that due to my lateness in getting pictures up,  you have already seen their projects, so I am just posting to brag about what I got! Grin

First, sort of a together shot...the awesome "sushi" ATC I got from sheepblue featuring her newly acquired skill of doing stumpwork!  It is next to the "coffee" hoop lindy321 made for me (which is next to the one kittykill made me last round!)...how is that for having my walls decorated by talented Craftsters?

Next, a group shot of the goodies from sheepblue...an incredible spider ATC with creepy eyes and moveable front legs; a wall weaving made from handspun, a cool necklace with an interesting mix of stuff, and, ha ha , a card that was made by lindy321 for sheepblue (I love it when we pass around each other's cards!!). She also sent me some keys for me to make a key wind chime some day:

Lindy sent me much needed notecards using her fancy dancy machine...it is called a Silhouette!  I think I need one...look at the intricate cuts it can do....I love the little whale!

Almost forgot!!!

I practically begged sheepblue to send me a few of her printed fabric pieces...

You can see more of sheepblue's and lindy's  individual projects on their separate posts...it will be worth it!

Thank you so much, ladies...you made my weekend...I feel so spoiled!

I took a few more pictures that I am going to post in the 50 projects just so I don't hog the thread! Grin

Good idea using frames as display cases!

Sheepblue...I am sure many people are now coveting your stumpwork...I had to look it up as I forgot what it was....now I remember...there was an incredible octopus tentacle that made such an impression on me....great job on all the pieces...especially MINE! Grin

One of my partners received in the OWS swap...

Originally, I picked her for an apron, but once I found out it was her 4-year old's birthday, I switched up on her and made him some fun felt food!
I got this a "kit" from Etsy...so much fun to make since it was mostly what I consider summer food!

But, I did not want to leave Mama out, so I made her a dotee since she said she wanted one on her list:

Now the long wait for my international partner to receive... Grin

Your jewelry is always different and so interesting!

OK--I need to stop gardening as I find more places that need sun catchers and other handmade goodies! Grin

Kinda hard to see, but when we sitting on our little patio, they sparkle and shine!  Also, I noticed when i was in my living room they created patterns of light on my ceiling!! Bonus!

Ok--I think this is the pillow I am going to offer. It is a smaller size, but I think the colors and style might be better for a gift or a girl's room, or even anyone who likes green and pink.  It is a lot simpler in style:

Depending on where it is going, I can "unstuff" it, too. Here is the back:

The House Divided football plaque is genius!

Also, all of those frames for teachers!  A good gift...it must be hard for parents to think of things that teachers could use...frames are always good!

I can only post one picture now...have to wait until swap items are received...darn...

but I made jar candles by recycling old taper candles and unwanted candles..made 5, but only showing the three last ones that turned out the best...the others are mostly plain...I sure had a lot of red candles! Grin

30  Re: RRR Craftalong in REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING by alwaysinmyroom on: June 04, 2014 06:34:36 AM
A long time ago, I used to entertain a lot and had purchased a ton of taper candles and candle holders...well those days are done, and we entertain differently now...and mostly use jar candles or big pillar candles.

So I gathered all of the tapers and unwanted candles I could find in the garage, closets, etc....almost two full bankers boxes!

Did a quick search on the internet to see how to best melt down the wax (I used a double boiler pan and a coffee can!)...bought some wicks at AC Moore...and made these---so far, I have made 5 of them...we had the jars, so when they are used up, I will make more...I have a box and about half left, but at least I know what I will be doing with them...using them up!

It was a lot of work, but I could not throw the candles into the landfill...and it was sort of fun to layer the wax...I added some fragrance by throwing in one of those scentsy melt things...the colors were there already in the candles...
