1  UNITED STATES / Wisconsin / Re: Wisconsin Thrift stores.... on: February 12, 2006 06:32:25 PM
Hey, everyone!

Dime and Dollar in about the 300 block of S. 2nd Ave., Bathesda in about the 100 block of N. 1st Ave. in Wausau are a couple of my favorites.  My children (all 5) really love these places , too.  My son was in the play "Sining in the Rain" and commented that HE had better clothes than the theater clothes at school!  Goodwill in Weston is good ,also.  Resently had a couple of pairs of Steve Madden shoes.  My daughter spent several minutes trying to get them to fit!!

I love the St. Vincent DePaul in Madison and in Marshfield, too.  Marshfiel, WI - A hospital town.  No shopping there but all the docs families take stuff to the St. Vincent store.  About 40 minutes from Wausau.

See you there!

2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Discussion and Questions / Re: Has anyone dealt with Fire Mountain Gems? on: February 12, 2006 06:00:15 PM
Hey, there!

Am a lampworker (I make my own glass beads)  and beader in  Wisconsin and have been ordering from Fire Mountain for about 2 years.  I absolutely love this company.  Great customer service ( even when I asked a really dorky question), great prices and had no problem with returning things (for any reason)..   Had to return acouple of tiny things (cannot remember what now) and a set of pearls that were not what I thought they would be and had no problem.  Couldn't you look at their catalogs all day long?

Just was turned on to Crafster from my darling daughter and hope to post some of the beads soon.

Good luck!
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Painted Chiffon Glamorous Dress!!! [Picture Heavy!] on: February 11, 2006 08:56:54 PM
Hey, girl!

Wow! what a dress!  I can't believe you had an idea to hang the fabric on the line and paint it.  I wish I were that brave and inventive( of course having some exra time would help). I think you should work in Hollywood or New York or something.  You look terrific in the dress, too!

My daughter turned me onto craftster and I saw the dress and had to write.  What a fun place!  Post more!
