1  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Verb Swap Round 2! (sign ups July 2 to July 21, send by August 17th) on: July 13, 2011 06:26:38 AM
I'm debating signing up for this.  Its been a long time since I've done a swap, and this was one of my favorites for sure.  Now...what verb?  To ponder?
2  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Advanced & Awesome Accessories Challenge! Enter Dec 31 - Jan 7 2011 on: December 03, 2010 10:07:06 AM

3  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Re: Ask Debbie Stoller... and maybe win her new book! Call for interview questions. on: November 18, 2010 06:48:17 PM
I own all of your knitting books and will definitely be getting the newest one for Christmas! I also own the Happy Hooker and would love to see another, like everyone else.

My question is "Are you interested in any other fiber arts? ie spinning, felting"  Also, a more technique question which I'm guessing is addressed in the new book "When making cables, I often will get a hole or a loose part of knitting right next to where the cables cross.  Do you have a recommended fix for this?"

Check out this video by Cat Bordhi.  She is pretty amazing.

I don't know how she even thought to try this.  This seems like something craftster members might like to try.

5  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / Re: Has anyone tried spinning newspaper? on: October 09, 2010 06:00:42 PM
I haven't tried newspaper, but I did try coffee filters once after reading this article in knitty.  It was interesting.  I didn't do anything with the resulting 'yarn' but its supposed to be great for weaving.

6  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / Re: Wheel or Spindle? Which one do you use? on: October 09, 2010 05:53:17 PM
I have two wheels and 4 or 5 spindles.  I didn't spin a lot with the spindles until I bought 'Respect the Spindle'.  I love that book so much, and now I consider myself a decent spindler.  Now, I spin about 50/50 wheel/spindle - depending upon my mood.  Both are very relaxing.  And I love the yarns that I get on my spindle too.

I love this so much!  Thanks for sharing.  I have a question about applying the polish with a sponge.   How do you do it?  Do you pour the polish directly onto the sponge or do you use some sort of palette?  Is the sponge wet to start?  Do you use the same spot on the sponge with each colour change to get it blended right?  Or do you use a clean spot/sponge each colour?

Sorry, not really a question.  More like a series of them.
8  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / Re: Fiber Friday May 21 on: May 24, 2010 06:59:55 AM
Ha, ha.  I'll keep it in mind.  Though, I'm sure she'll like it.  She loves hats of any type.  We just gutted her room and she had sooo  many knitted hats.  And she wears them all.  Living in northern Canada, we have to wear woolies alot.

I must say it was really freeing spinning this.  I'm usually not able to do the backwards long draw very well, but since it was 'art yarn'  I just went with the flow.  Very enjoyable spin

I love those colours together.  Reminds me of coleus plants.

Here is my spinning this week.  Its my first attempt at art yarn.  I love it.  I'm picturing knitting a big slouchy loosely knit hat from it.  I know my daughter will love and wear it.

Great work everyone, I especially love Summer Marshlands.  Great greens.

I've been really itching to spin art yarns too.  Anyone have any pointers?  I just bought 'Intertwined' and a drum carder, so I'm ready to go.
