2  *EDIT* Snow Water Globes...finished! in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by therealgigantor on: January 02, 2007 04:29:06 AM
*EDITED to add second globe*

Well, this didn't turn out as well as I had hoped, but lessons learned and next time will be much better!

*Fimo Soft
*Craft wire
*brush bristles (for eyelashes)
*E6000
*Silicone Adhesive/ Caulk
*Snow Globes http://www.nationalartcraft.com/subcategory.asp?gid=6&cid=37&scid=54
*Glitter
*Glycerin
*Acrylic paint

The figures are "sidekicks" for friends. Its sort of an inside joke thing, but hopefully you can appreciate them anyway! Here are the first sketch

Here's what happened when I tried to put the first one together:

There was much screaming and pulling of hair.

This figure had to be reglued and resoaked, so I'll finish it tomorrow...maybe.

Anyway, I did finish the cakelady. I only wish I had made the legs a but shorter, but alas.

She fits...barely!

Thigs to remember for next time:

*make the figures smaller! They are magnified by the water.
*colors are muted by the water. Exaggerate colors you want to stand out.

Here she is! Bra lady (I need to come up with names!) She fits much better than cake lady does.

BLIZZARD!

I love how the snow collects on her mitten and eyelids!

Christmas is finally done!

4  Medusa Costume! in Halloween Costumes by therealgigantor on: November 01, 2006 10:38:09 AM
I wasn't gonna post, but what the heck! This year was medusa!

I made the hair from a long dread wig. I wired each dread with coat hanger...(process shot)

and then covered each one with a tube of fabric. They flopped all over the place but it was a good effect. I tied them together in some places so they would stand up, and then I wove a few rubber snakes in to spice it up!

I reused a toga I had thrown together for a murder mystery party a few months back. its just a big sheet of material with a  hole in the middle that's tied and pinned in just the right spots.

Here are some more action shots!
mmmmm...babies....

SCARY!

I am WORKIN that scary face!! Tongue

After about 15 hours of carving over the weekend, I didnt have the patience to take better pictures Sad I try to get some tomorrow...

7  I PITY THE FOOL! in CHALLENGE 13 ENTRIES by therealgigantor on: July 02, 2006 07:00:53 PM
I PITY THE FOOL! who doesn't think this is the most awesome sock monkey ever!!

Enough jibba jabba! lets get to it!

- Mr. T

Here are the fixin's I used. I ended up not going with the gold stuff, but got some chains from the thrift store and around the house. Mr. T is also 100% recycled! even the sewing machine I made him on was a hand-me-down!

I chopped up the penguin to make the hair, used the old shirt for his vest and obviously, the linty sock for his bod!

Here are some more glamour shots! No matter how long I picked at that lint, I just couldn't get it all off!
