I finally finished this lion that I've been working on since November! I'm so proud :-) She's made almost completely of vintage materials (with the exception of felt anf fiberfill). I even based the pattern of of something from a 1965 craft magazine. Her "mane" was created using a waldorf doll technique where you hand sew each loop and tack it down with a satin stitch. The eyes were based on a Dakin Dreampet, and I added the sequins. The dress looks simple in the photo but it actually has a ton pleats at the top. Sadly, I have to pack her up and ship her off next week for a charity event in Australia. I guess I'll always have the pictures.
I finally finished these socks! I've casted on for them more than four times. I had a lot of issues with the fit. They kept coming out insanely tight, and with no stretch. I eventually ended up adding two extra sections of chevron so I would be able to pull them over my ankles. It's funny, I have really thin legs but these socks just weren't working with the dimensions in the pattern. My gauge was on, so it wasn't me. IDK! I'm so glad that they are finally finished and that the fit me!
i made this turkey from a vintage VIP cut and sew screenprint, and I love him to bits! we really don't have any thanksgiving decorations, so he's all alone on the occasional table. it's time he's found some friends. don't you think?
