I wanted a small wristlet that I could take to concerts but also use as a wallet so I didn't have to transfer all the necessities from my purse every time I wanted to leave my purse at home, so I designed this. I loved it so much I couldn't bear to use it. I do that with a lot of things  (just had to use a Thanksgiving smiley)  When I was trying to think of how I wanted to dress it up I remembered this little vintage pendant I got years ago. Somehow I found it immediately and it just goes with the whole thing so well, I just adore it!

Ok, I'll shut up about how much I love this now.

hmm, what's plastic? if it's plastic you should be able to do the same thing. Your bobbin case looks like this?

if not you need one of those. Just make sure you get the right one for your machine. They're pretty inexpensive or you can try to find used - but if the tension is messed up so will all your sewing...

I really feel like my shop has been doing very well considering everything I've done wrong. I listed a bunch of items around the same time, didn't list anything for a while, had horrible pictures, and listed things I didn't think I could sell just to try to sell something to pay some bills. I sold 9 things in the past two months - I don't think that's too shabby considering that was the majority of my shop.

Unfortunately, all of October was a lost month for me, craft wise. My old room mate moved out (yay, she was a slob!) and I spent a lot of time cleaning, painting, rearranging the living room, totally rehauling the kitchen and the pantry, digging through the storage room in the basement, dealing with swap organizing stuff,  rewiring the electronics, and sorting through my mountains of materials and supplies to set up my new craft room (!). For some reason I thought I'd get that all done in a week... It took a month but now I'm able to work on some fun projects - and with enthusiasm!

So here's my latest (almost finished) creation. It's a wallet/wristlet/clutch - it can be used as all three (the D ring folds in and holds keys if needed for use as a clutch). The colors  aren't 100% true, but pretty close. I need more hours of daylight to get better pics.





It's not done because I flubbed the last part, trying to speed through after spending the day with my Dad (losing valuable craft time!) So now I'm ripping apart seams (as you can see), and luckily the fabric wasn't damaged. It's a blessing in disguise because I thought of a way to add another pocket. It's also missing a finished detachable wristlet because I'm deciding between the ribbon or the green fabric. Any thoughts?

I couldn't wait to post it. The charm on the front is a vintage copper pendant someone at burning man gave me because they thought I could use it. 8 years later, I finally did, and I really like it. 

Sorry about this being so long - I'm bored with Etsy not around and really excited to actually make something not swap-related for once.

Haha - I get totally over descriptive at times. It does look a little like brown cammo but I have a twisted sense of humor and it's unlike the cammo I'm familiar with.



It's, well, splattery. I just couldn't resist posting my initial reaction - you will not be likely to hear someone say something "looks like shit" in a swap gallery any time soon.

Well the one lens is less than 2" at the widest and just the sign on it is my official entry  - not the bat one (since I painted the sign with the tip of a pin).  The other lens is not being entered. Also if you look closely I'm taking the pictures from the side mostly so the measuring tape looks off (note all the space extra on the left side on most pics). I think I'm OK...?

I had to paint the letters on with a pin so they're not perfect - after a million tries I finally realized I would not "grow up" to be a miniature painter!

This was the thing that was giving me tons of trouble - I kept hating what I had done so I kept peeling the paint off and starting over.  It's still not what I had envisioned but I like them.

It's a fused glass plate with the gonzo logo! I love it. I went right out and bought a plate stand for it.

And a bottle of pure adrenachrome - with a human adrenal gland - to chew on.

I painted this pair of sunglasses for a swap based on Hunter S Thompson and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. I'm entering the leaving Las Vegas sign and not the Ralph Steadman inspited bat. It's not the best of show but it was really hard making those tiny letters using the tiniest needle I had as a paintbrush...







I wish I could get better pics in daylight but that's all folks.

The cook book that I got the images from was from a thrift store as well. I just love old pictures of food that make it look really unappetizing. Luckily my swap partner does too!
