1  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Monster Umbrellas on: October 22, 2007 09:52:39 AM

I found these umbrellas at the dollar store
and glued felt features to them with spray glue.
The kids went crazy for them!
2  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Retro Melamine Cups Turned into Candlesticks on: August 13, 2007 07:43:22 PM

I just got a bunch of projects back from a book I wrote about glue, and thought you guys might like to see these.  They are just melamine cups that I found at a thrift store in San Francisco last year, glued to the tops of black painted candlesticks.  Then as you can see, I glued little black buttons all around and wrote my name with a black sharpie.  Added the ribbons, and now they are perfect to hold candies, or what not.  Too fun, and way easy.

3  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Fiber Yo-Yo Belt on: July 31, 2007 12:37:39 AM

I didn't know what category this would fit into, but I just thought you would like to see my yo-yo belt.  I made it by winding fibers around plastic discs and tying them all together.

Thanks for looking!

4  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Decoupage Luggage for decorative storage on: May 26, 2007 10:59:47 PM

I have some very scary luggage from years ago when my crazy friend Darsee and I were decoupaging everything in sight. The photo shoot for a book that we were writing about decoupage was a hoot, with me dressed in vintage clothing and standing on the railroad tracks looking longing for someone special to arrive on an imaginary train. Pretty funny now, huh? *giggle*

Anyway, I took that old luggage and made it new again. First of all, I had to start with covering up all of the old paint and photos from the first makeover. Gesso to the rescue! It was perfect for major coverage and it gave me a blank canvas. The next step was to spray paint it all white. Now I was ready to decoupage and pick my paper. I have some fabulous new scrapbook paper that is to die for. So I used it for my decoupage and it turned out soooo pretty. I am going to use the new luggage to organize and store craft supplies in my studio. I'm lovin' how fresh and sweet it looks.

Whaddaya think?
Thanks for loooooooking,

6  UNITED STATES / Oklahoma / Tulsa Flea Market, Craft Mafia on: February 13, 2007 09:02:00 AM

The Tulsa Craft Mafia made a great showing at the Tulsa Flea Market
last Saturday!  That's the gals with their honeys.  The soy candles,
cards, and air fresheners were so cool.

Yummy smells, fab candles and cool cards!

7  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Valentine's Day Centerpiece on: February 10, 2007 09:51:03 AM

I did these yummy candy trees and orbs for my Valentine's Day table.
They're not edible, but they make a huge statement, I think.
I wanted something romantic and sweet for a girl's party.
What do you think?

8  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Glass Valentine's Pendants on: February 09, 2007 10:24:33 PM

I finally made some glass pendants!  I found the images in an Alloy catalog and an Urban Outfitters catalog in the pics showing different styles of t-shirts.  My family loved them, so guess who's getting them for gifts?

For Valentine's Day I'm going to put them on cords or ribbon with valentine charms, and then put them in cards and maybe make some matching boxes.  I found some cool stickers and lovey dovey stuff at Hobby Lobby today on sale at 30% off, so that really made my day.

There is a tutorial on my website if you want the instructions.
Thanks for looking!

9  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Decoupaged Bust! on: February 08, 2007 11:52:07 PM

What do you think?
I decoupaged magazine clippings
all over a bust that I had,
which was just sitting in my bedroom
with hats piled on top of it.

I don't know if it's ART,
or just silly, but I love it.

10  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Beaded Bowling Pin on: January 13, 2007 10:31:00 PM
I am working on my craft segment for Monday morning
on Channel Six here in Tulsa on the CBS station.
LeAnne Taylor and Carina Sonn asked me to
help them decorate a bowling pin!

It is for a charity bowling tournament for the
Tulsa Big Sisters organization to raffle off.
We decided that since it's a bowling "pin" ...
that it needs a "pin-up" girl

It took 3 coats of spray paint to cover up
all the bowling alley marks and the stripe.
The next thing I did was decoupage the pin-up girl
and the logo to the pin. Then I applied double-adhesive
sheets to the entire pin.

I decided to do the whole bowling pin in red,
white and blue beads.  I'm putting different sizes
of beads on each section for more texture.
The little bitty beads don't have holes in them,
so they are absolutely beautiful.

I love it! I accidentally got a few stray beads
in the wrong sections, so I'm having to flick
them out with a craft knife.

It's as done as it's gonna get until Monday morning.
I am dying to finish beading the girl,
but it will just have to wait. When I do the segment,
I am going to let LeAnne and Carina peel off
the pink sheet that's covering the girl, and dip it
into clear beads for the viewers to see.

Tell me what you think...

I do have a big problem though.
I used adhesive sheets that I've had for
several years, and cannot find them
online or in a store anywhere.
Does anyone know where I can get more???

Help!
