11  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Re: Glass Valentine's Pendants on: April 05, 2007 11:36:49 PM
Pattie,
Did you happen to make your hand model? I find myself intrigued by it, and wonder if I could make one just like it using rubber gloves and papier mache....... or is this something that only media moguls have on hand (pun not intended  Roll Eyes)

Too funny! :-)
Nope, that hand has a funny story.  I bought it in a funky store on a trip to New York.  It is a white ceramic hand, for displaying gloves.  I got stopped in airport security, because they saw it in the x-ray machine.  Then, after I got it home I dropped it and broke 2 fingers off.  Being the crazed crafter, I glued it together and decoupaged black handmade paper all over it so it looks like this now.  Weird, huh?  But, I still like it.  It comes in handy.  (pun intended :-0)
*giggle, giggle*

You know what?  I'll bet you COULD make one with a rubber glove!

...ok. One more thing I forgot: how did you glue the image? Did you glue the glass, put the image over and reglue or just hold the image and glue the back to seal?

I put the FabriTac glue on the glass and evened it out, without making bubbles.  Then I laid the wet stone over the image and smoothed it out.  Next, I waited until it dried and then cut it out so that it was perfect around the edges.

There is a project page at:

Be sure and post a pic of your pendants when you're done!

17  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: Decoupaged Bust! on: February 16, 2007 09:30:00 PM

Oh my gosh!  You're right about
needing a close-up of
the dang bust!

I used magazine cut-outs
and torn tissue paper to cover it.
It was fun gluing the girl around the ear
to look like she is holding it.

Thanks for checking it out.

I like your idea of putting the felt on the back.
I would love to see a picture of yours with the plastic ovals.

I have given them all away except for three!

Now I am going to have to make some for myself.

19  UNITED STATES / Oklahoma / Tulsa Flea Market, Craft Mafia on: February 13, 2007 09:02:00 AM

The Tulsa Craft Mafia made a great showing at the Tulsa Flea Market
last Saturday!  That's the gals with their honeys.  The soy candles,
cards, and air fresheners were so cool.

Yummy smells, fab candles and cool cards!
