1  my first stencil - roy lichtenstein in Stenciling: Completed Projects by orangegurll on: July 02, 2006 09:58:55 PM
I decided to try my first stencil. I used my favorite Roy Lichtenstein painting "girl with hair ribbon" for the stencil and bleach to put it on the shirt. It was a fairly good first time project. I'm pleased...

It looks better than this photo, not uneven.

2  finished baby blanket and booties in Crochet: Completed Projects by orangegurll on: May 28, 2006 08:59:16 PM
I made these from the book- blankets, hats and booties to knit and crochet. I absolutely love this blanket. It was very hard to give it away. The mother-to-be really loved it though, so that helped.

3  Roll your own needle case - modified in Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller by orangegurll on: May 02, 2006 06:22:33 PM
Here's my version of the case... This was a super easy day project and very easy to modify to your own needs.

I made it to match a knitting stand I made, recently posted here:

4  Smurf yourself a grin! in CHALLENGE 11 ENTRIES by orangegurll on: May 01, 2006 03:35:13 PM
*Disclaimer* No smurfs were harmed in the making of this piece...

When I saw this embroidered mushroom all I could think about was smurfs dancing around it with tons of psychedelic colors. And I got it for 2 bucks not the marked price.
Before:

After:

This is a scan so you can see the details. The finished piece is on an 8x10 canvas.

Background:

I decoupaged pages out of magazines down, then splatter painted on top. I then glued sequins on the shrooms and glued that and the smurfs down. Then I mod podged the foot to cardboard and put springs on the back to  raise it above everything else. Then I painted the lyrics to the smurf theme song down. This was so much fun to make, I hope you like it!

5  Re: Anyone know how to make the Hello Kitty Granny Square? in Crochet: Discussion and Questions by orangegurll on: April 27, 2006 02:56:57 PM
Here's mine... This was my second attempt at any kind of granny square. I must admit it was rather hard for me. I'm still a new hooker.  Don't laugh at the squished face. I must have been smoking crack when I did this. Oh well It was just a practice one.

6  folding knitting/craft stand revamp in Completed Projects by orangegurll on: April 23, 2006 09:16:54 PM
My mom had this in our sell pile. I have started crafting more and realized that I needed this baby for my knitting in progress projects (that are piling up fast Grin). I like the old fabric, but it looks garish in my room.
Before:

I had already taken it apart...

After:

I'm not the greatest at sewing, so this must have been fairly easy. I enjoyed spending a saturday afternoon on it.

7  Re: stitch n' bitch felted marsupial tote in Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller by orangegurll on: April 21, 2006 06:42:39 PM
Just thought I'd share my finished bag. I love this pattern, but I think I will double the next one I make, this ones just a tad too small for my taste.

8  Re: Need help altering dress! in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by orangegurll on: April 16, 2006 08:27:14 PM
Thank you all so much for the ideas! I took in the sides and ironed the heck out of the gathers to make them lay flat, I still need to move the straps in a little, but it fits way better now, here is the finished product.

sorry the pic is a little blurry , but you get the idea Wink

9  Finished Johnny Depp Poster Boy Bag in Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller by orangegurll on: April 16, 2006 07:48:15 PM
I finished this awhile back and realized that I hadn't posted it yet. I graphed him on Knitter's graph paper but he still has a slight alien head thing going on. Oh well, good enough for my first attempt at anything with more than one color of yarn and so complicated.

This is the pic I used...

10  Re: Hello Kitty modified Kittyville Hat. in Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller by orangegurll on: April 16, 2006 03:19:08 PM
I just had to make this when I saw it. I love everything Hello Kitty. Thanks Malinki for sharing the idea!!! Its amazing how many people think it is so cute when I wear it in public. I didn't care what people thought, but I was pretty sure I would get some weird looks. However, I didn't. So for all of you that don't think you can pull it off, just try it.
