1  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Do Something New KAL! on: July 25, 2007 09:54:24 AM
Signups are just starting for the Do Something New Knit-A-Long.  If you have something new in the knitting world that you are wanting to try - like learning to do cables, making your first pair of socks, dying your own yarn, etc. - then this is for you!

Here is the URL:
http://dosomethingnewkal.blogspot.com/

It will run from August 1st 2007 to January 31st 2008.  You can participate as much or as little as you'd like . . . and there will be prizes!  Everyone is invited to join, so check it out!  It should be fun!
2  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / What can I do with this Dissected Sweater? on: March 09, 2006 03:23:44 PM
I've been reading so many postings here on Craftster that I had to go and buy something at a thrift store to reconstruct!  I bought this sweater for a whooping 50 cents!

It has a 'Gap' label is is made of wool and a bit of angora.  It has a great feel to it, though it was a bit dingy looking.

Anyway, I had intended to unravel it, kool-aid dye it, then reknit the yarn.  BUT I was overzealous with those dang scissors and I ended up cutting it apart wrong so when I unravel it I just get the short peices.  Roll Eyes (I studied up on the unravelling-a-sweater instructions afterward, so next time I think I'll have more luck).

So this is the part where I really need some suggestions.  I am too stubborn to toss the thing so I have got to figure out what to do with it.  If nothing else, I could felt it and have a butt load of coasters and cleaning rags, but I'd rather come up with something more fun!  I could probably, maybe, make a dog sweater or two out of it.

So, please give me some ideas!!!   Kiss

Thanks in advance,
TinaInWonderland
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Where the heck is the 'Panta' pattern? on: February 23, 2006 05:51:26 PM
I am dying to make a Panta but I can not find a pattern.  I clicked on the only link I could find to it, and all I got was a weird forein looking page, with no pattern.  So please help direct me to a pattern and I will be happy!

Thanks,
TIna
