1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / UK knitters - where do you buy from? on: May 24, 2007 02:38:54 AM
I like to knit, but more often than not I like to felt what I knit.

I just wondered where the UK knitters of this forum buy there 100% wool from online or from any national shops.

I've only really found http://www.getknitted.com which supplies 100% wool at a reasonable cost, but they only really have Cascade 220 in a large-ish variety of colours.

If anyone can provide me with information that would be brilliant!

Thanks Cheesy

2  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Stitch help? on: October 31, 2006 01:36:36 PM
I was just browsing some images tagged with amigurumi on flickr and came across this little sheep.
I guess I'm just wondering if the sheeps wool is crocheted and if it is what kind of stitch is it??

I tried to contact the poster of the image but I am very new to flickr

3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Christmas Tree - crafty pattern ideas, please? on: October 09, 2006 02:21:14 PM
I will be moving out of my parents home this winter into a flat of my own. So I won't have any decorations and want to craft my decorations in advance.

I would like to make a small tree, say maximum of about 30cm/12" tall.
Does anyone have any ideas or patterns of trees and / or decorations?

(crochet patterns would be a big plus Smiley)

If you do share something, thank you in advance Smiley
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / What is this stitch? on: September 14, 2006 06:23:43 AM
I was wondering if anyone could tell me what stitch is (i mean the bobbly / lumpy bits):

If you know, how do you do it? Or is there anywhere on the net with good instructions for it?

Thanks if anyone can help me Smiley

5  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / CRAFT Magazine on: September 11, 2006 02:33:51 AM
I've been searching around for a while to try and find something I am sure I found on craftster about the new CRAFT magazine coming out this autumn.

Was there a post from leah on the forum that had a code in it that gave craftsters some kind of discount for a CRAFT subscription?

I hope I posted this in the right place.
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Feltable wool? on: September 05, 2006 01:09:54 AM
I live in the UK and I find it very difficult to get hold of feltable wool.

Would anyone be able to tell me some different brands of wool that felts really well.

Would you also be able to tell me if the white of that brand felts?

Thank you to anyone that can help me out Smiley
7  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / What stitches are these? on: August 12, 2006 11:35:34 AM
I absolutely love this scarf :

Made by Shakedown in this post : http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=66932.0

However I am unsure of what the stitches are that are in it, I assume it starts off with a row of chains but after that I am unsure.

Can anyone help me out and point me in the right direction??

Thanks.
8  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 14 ENTRIES / Teeny Tiny Easel & Canvas on: August 06, 2006 02:44:12 AM
This is my first craft challenge. While spending quite a long time deciding what to create I was looking around my room and saw this little easel I have that is a photo frame, so from this I made a teeny tiny one.

Both together:

The Easel front and side:

The making of it, I thought it wouldn't work, but to my surprise Smiley:

I must admit I did cheat a bit with the canvas, I used cotton because I didn't have any canvas around to use  Undecided
9  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Looking for "different" animal patterns on: July 21, 2006 02:58:09 AM
I've done a lot of searches in a number of places and I just cannot seem to find one anywhere.

I'm looking for patterns for unusual animals like: hedgehogs, porcupines, armadillos, skunks. Or anything that's not your "everyday" animal really.

If anyone could help me that would be brilliant, thanks.
10  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Covering Note/Sketch books with Hard Covers?? on: May 18, 2006 02:47:16 AM
I have a 200 page note/sketch book that is made up of singles sheets all glued together at the "spine".

I just wanted to know if there was a way I could put a hard cover on it to prevent all the pages coming off the "spine".

Maybe like the way in this thread? http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=86419.0
However I don't know how to do that. Does anyone know of a tutorial or have any instructions for this??
