1  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / my beedrom is in desperate need of help on: November 26, 2008 08:43:26 PM
I moved in to a family about 6 months ago to be an au-pair.
I got this big room that is just not me, I tried to hang posters on the wall to make it a little more cozy, but it's not really helping.
The color of the room is peach and is not really my color. i'm more for bright colors. They would let me paint the room if I want to, but I have no idea on what color or how to decorate, since I'm only going to stay here for a year i don't want to spend money on expensive stuff.  I'm thinking about painting a stencil or a big painting on the wall behind the bed..
well anyway I really need cheap decorating tips

2  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / LED-lighting on: July 11, 2007 12:38:19 PM
I hope this topic goes here..
I just watched Cribs on MTV and I saw this cool lighting in the crib of Craig David.

Basiclly it was (i think) LED lights in a trim on the bottom of the wall, and then you could change color from red to green to blue.

Does anyone know if it's hard to build that kind of stuff, or can you purchase cheap spotlights, or anything..

Give me some tips and tricks... because it would look so cool in my room.
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Uniform on: December 16, 2006 06:11:02 AM
okay so i'm thinking about making a uniform like this

or this one

because i don't have afford to buy that one  and i'd like to customize it a bit..
but what fabric should i use and does anyone have a good pattern idea, of something that would look similar to the dress.
or could i just use a jacket pattern.. ?
4  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / acrylic on clothes? on: November 10, 2006 05:44:20 PM
is it possible to use acrylic painting on clothes when you do stenciling?

I found out the wrong way (by spilling) that it dosen't wash of in the washing machine..
but is there something else that maybe makes it a bad option?

it's much cheaper than paint that you usally use..
