I got this idea from a livejournal community that was just started. I'm not sure exactly how they are running it, but do check it out if you're interested (shareascarf).
Anyway, I'm sure everyone is doing a lot of knitting for the holidays, and will probably have some leftover yarn. How about we knit up some swatches from our leftovers and trade with each other - then we can assemble our pieces into random scrap scarves? We would set a size for the swatches, so they all match up. And the pattern, texture, type of yarn would be left to the knitter's discretion.
