1  Notebooks made from recycled office materials in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Craftygreenpoet on: January 14, 2007 11:16:50 AM
I've made a series of notebooks from reclaimed materials, including office waste card and paper, with ribbons, raffia, string or even a belt from a dress to hold them together and pictures from magazines or scraps of wrapping paper to brighten them up.

2  Net bracelet in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Craftygreenpoet on: June 09, 2006 12:59:06 AM
I made this bracelet from a strange net material that I found somewhere, then I laced in some silver gift-ribbon and sewed on a couple of flower beads that came from a hand bracelet that was too big. The bracelet ties with ribbon at the back. Let me know what you think!

3  Notelets from reclaimed materials in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Craftygreenpoet on: March 23, 2006 12:43:02 AM
I made some notelets the other day from reclaimed paper from the office, pages torn from a Japanese poetry journal and photos of flowers cut from an Italian magazine - so international as well as 100% reclaimed. These are just two examples:

4  Turin in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Craftygreenpoet on: March 23, 2006 12:38:15 AM
The latest page in the book:

It features a photo of Turin and a collection of bus tickets, restaurant recepits etc from our time there. It's set against a background of a text about holidays in the city.

5  New page - Hanbury Botanic Gardens in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Craftygreenpoet on: March 12, 2006 07:54:56 AM
Thanks for all your comments!

I'm quite pleased with how its turning out but its getting harder and harder to find text in the book that relates at all to my content. If I didn't speak Italian, of course i wouldn't see that as a problem!

6  Dancing cardboard rabbit - my first toy! in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Craftygreenpoet on: February 17, 2006 01:05:30 AM

If you can't see the photo, it's also at my blog:
http://craftygreenpoet.blogspot.com/2005/12/recycled-toys.html

I made this at a conference in Italy. When you pull on the carrot, the rabbit dances! Actually much more interesting than the toy (which is modelled on my own adorable rabbit Anya!) is the place where it was made. The Serendipity Ludoteca in Turin is a wonderful play and activities centre that is committed to recycling and reuse and has a workshop full of 'junk' that they and the people they work with turn into fun toys! There's some more information (in Italian only, last time I looked) at: http://www.comune.torino.it/gioco. Anya loves this toy by the way!

7  Old paper bags and cards to stylish giftwrap in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Craftygreenpoet on: February 17, 2006 12:53:55 AM

If you can't see the picture, you can see it at my blog:
http://craftygreenpoet.blogspot.com/2005/11/gift-wrapping.html

I like to reuse paper for wrapping gifts but it can look a bit tacky so I've started doing this kind of thing - using plain paper bags, old wrapping paper, ribbon from chocolate boxes and gifts and making gift tags from old greetings cards. What do you think? Or do you have other ideas for creative giftwrap from reused materials?

8  Thanks for your comments in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Craftygreenpoet on: February 17, 2006 12:16:35 AM
and I don't know much about the comb, just that it was found in what is now the Turin area of Italy a long time ago. Here's the page of the book I've just finished. Similar colour scheme:

Thanks!

9  *First post in clothing area* Add lace stocking tops to gloves for glamour! in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Craftygreenpoet on: February 05, 2006 12:36:32 PM

If you can't see the photo, please try this link:
http://craftygreenpoet.blogspot.com/2005/09/customised-clothing.html. Once the stockings fall apart it seems a shame to waste the lace tops so I added them to the top of some elbow length gloves. (Just a bit of simple sewing). Yes I'm a bit of a glamour goth in my spare time! The jewellery is all second hand too!

10  Lavender bag from fabric left overs. *First post, please comment!* in Needlework: Completed Projects by Craftygreenpoet on: February 05, 2006 12:31:43 PM

If you can't see the photo, please try this link:
http://craftygreenpoet.blogspot.com/2006/02/lavender-bags.html
When on holiday in Italy we went for a day trip to France and I bought a huge bag of lavender for far less than they were selling lavender bags. This is the second lavender bag I've made using scraps of fabric left over from a dress I had made when i was in Malawi many years ago. It's very simple, just hemmed and seamed and filled with lavender. The ribbon came from a gift I think. I've sent this item to a fellow member of www.bookcrossing.com in exchange for a book!
