21  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Hand-made birthday card completely of FOUND objects on: July 02, 2006 01:05:18 PM
This birthday card was given me this year by my friend Kat.  She made it out of nothing but FOUND objects.  It is one of the most original gifts I've ever received.  Thought I might share it for inspiration.  I think it is made out of a shopping bag cut and photos.

22  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / MORE recycled beer box fun! on: July 02, 2006 01:00:38 PM
This notebook is an idea my friend Kat had.  I just made it a little BETTER!  SHe had made a notebook similar to this.  What I did to fix it was: add packing tape to the outside for waterproofing, duct tape to the inside for reinforcement, and a blue ribbon for.....well Pabst BLUE Ribbon! This is a little more labor intensive than the boxes, so there aren't as may of these as the DOZENS of boxes I made but here goes.....

This is the final product:

This is the inside where the ribbon is attatched.  It's just taped on, and it's never pulled out on me.

This is the whole outside, back cover.  Can you see the stitching on the binding.  It's unwaxed dental floss.

And here is the inside binding.  Maybe you can see the stitching better now.  Again....just dental floss, but unwaxed.
23  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Recycled Beer Box Fun! on: July 02, 2006 12:53:11 PM
These are boxes made out of crushed PBR boxes.  We drink a LOT of that here and I had been saving the boxes because our recycling doesn't RECYCLE them!  I couldn't let them go to waste, soooooo..... Here's how they go.

This is the large box.  It is made exaclty like a record box, but with different dimensions.

This is the smaller box. It is preceeded by a picture tutorial.

Start with the box top and bottom:

Put together like so:

Then fold ends together, they will curve, and staple!  I use leftovers of these around the house as baskets to hold small things like paint, needles, bobbins............
24  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Bat pillows on: July 01, 2006 04:43:09 PM
I made these Bat pillows for me and my Man, Jay.

The back is a short-hair, crushed black faux fur.

25  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Pillows from men's button ups! on: July 01, 2006 04:26:45 PM
My "man" was going to get rid of these and screamed "NO!". I can USE those!! We had some ugly old bed pillows that I used for cusioning, but they had no covers of their own.  Now they do!

All I did was turn shirt inside out and pin around the pillow.  Then I snipped the edges and sewed it.  Turned it right side out and buttoned it up onto the pillow and Viola!

Enjoy!

26  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Zombie Dolls: reconstructed from shirts on: June 27, 2006 02:38:30 PM
These are my Zombie dolls.  I tried to sell them on ebay, but to no avail.  Now I am selling them at an artisan market here in Asheville, NC.Thought you might enjoy them.  They are completely reconstructed form recycled materials.  They are even stuffed with scraps and remnants that I shred for stuffing.

This is Bob Zombie:

This is Harold Zombie:

This is Jens:

This is Gerald.  He is the original zombie prototype that I created for my life partner, Jay:
27  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Necktie Hat, inspired by the other one. on: June 27, 2006 02:25:34 PM
This is my hat made out of neck ties.  I saw the last one posted and said to myself how easy that looked.  It barely took 30 mintues to zip together.
The tutorial was VERY helpful! Thanks craftster!
