1  What yarn is this? in Crochet: Discussion and Questions by fancycrafter on: September 29, 2011 08:42:44 AM
I got some yarn from someone off of another message board and deleted the post. Now I can't remember who it was who gave me the yarn. I'm using the yarn to make a hat for my nephew and ran out of yarn. I don't know what yarn it is. I'm wondering if anyone here knows what type of yarn this is or any kind similar. It is really soft yarn that is light blue/gray:

2  Re: Making a shawl and it looks really small, needing suggestions on what is wrong in Crochet: Discussion and Questions by fancycrafter on: July 29, 2011 12:36:51 PM
Thanks for the suggestions. I will try starting over and crocheting looser to see if that helps. Here's what it looks like after I started a bit of row 7:

3  My first completed project... a newsboy hat in Crochet: Completed Projects by fancycrafter on: July 25, 2011 06:04:27 PM
This was pretty easy to make. I had to make some adjustments to it from the original pattern to get it the right size though. And, i had to make the piece on front with the buttons from my own pattern because the instructions weren't given for that. But, I think it turned out pretty well.

4  Scrapbook I made for someone (extremely pic. heavy) in Scrapbooking: Completed Projects by fancycrafter on: April 08, 2009 06:04:32 PM

This one says "We Love You":

I'm putting a pic. of her on this one:

And a few pages that I think need something else, but I don't know what else to do to them without over embellishing them. Any suggestions are welcome.

So, what do y'all think? Does it look alright? It's one of the first scrapbooks I've made.

5  Advice needed in Get Product and Website Opinions by fancycrafter on: January 03, 2009 12:55:13 PM
I made some of these framed photo collages as Christmas presents and the recipients really seemed to like them. So, I thought that maybe I could begin selling custom ones. Basically it would be whatever the person purchasing this would want. It has photos and they can have quotes, poems, or whatever words they would like to add. I could write a poem for whatever occasion it is or just for a specific person to go with it. It is kinda done like a scrapbook page with embellishments, glitter, rhinestones, ribbons, bows...you name it. It can have a plain colored background or one with designs like scrapbook paper is. Just basically whatever the person wants. I have posted pictures of two of the ones I made for Christmas and the one I made that's hanging on my wall in other threads here. But, I will post the pictures in this thread so you can see what I'm talking about.

I need some advice on this as I've never done this before. I seem to have lots of questions about this. Do you think this is a good idea and it would be successful? What price should I put on these? (I would have to go and purchase the embellishments for each one as it would be whatever they wanted...also, I'd have to figure the cost of supplies and ink to print the pictures, poems, etc.) How do I spread the word about this without it being considered spamming other then word of mouth? (I don't have any money to spend on promotion, so I'd have to find ways to do it myself for free if that's possible)
Any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

6  purse in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by fancycrafter on: December 19, 2008 04:35:38 PM
Here's a purse I made. I was a little off on one of the letters and tried to make it look alright by adding the heart, but I think it made it look a bit worse. Other then that I think it turned out pretty good. I prefer the side with the flowers...that's the side I use as the front most of the time.

7  Just something I made in Completed Projects by fancycrafter on: December 19, 2008 04:05:46 PM
I came up with this idea one day so, I made a photo collage thing (not really sure what you would call it). It's actually one of the favorite things I have in my room.

8  Christmas Presents in Completed Projects by fancycrafter on: December 19, 2008 04:01:13 PM
These are two of the Christmas presents I made this year. One is for my mom and the other is for a friend. I made the one for my mom with a picture of her and her best friend. I wrote two poems about friends to put on my mom's and another poem for a friend on hers. I'm also making another one for my mom that has a poem I wrote her, an alphabet scrapbook for my niece, and an organizer box for my step-dad. I just have to put some finishing touches on them and they'll be done. I'll post the pics here when I finish them.

9  Need Help With Room!! (Image Heavy) in Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions by fancycrafter on: July 29, 2007 08:50:29 PM
I need help with organization and decoration of my room. I have just gotten more into scrapbooking and need some way of organizing my scrapbooking supplies. Right now I have them all over..some in the desk drawers, some in a duffel bag on the floor under my comp. desk, and in storage containers under my student desk. So, when I do scrapbooking I have to search through these places for what I need, drag everything out, and then have it sitting out on my comp. desk and student desk and at times even on my bed, then when finished I have to put it all up again. I don't even do that much scrapbooking because of it. So, I need cheap ways to get my scapbook supplies organized in a way that's easily accessable.
Also, I have some books and notebooks sitting out on my desks due to lack of space to put them (these are the ones I use often..sometimes daily), so I basically need to get everything organized and find a place for them that's easily accessable. This arrangement of furnature is basically the only one that works so that everything fits nicely without being too cramped so I can't rearrange anything and I can't add any more furnature to the room cause it won't fit.
Lastly, I need to find a way to make everything match and seem to go together somehow. I have painted the comp. desk so that it matches the student desk, but I have a black bed and T.V. stand, and a wooden dresser. So, it doesn't all seem to go together that well..sort of looks like mis-matched furnature, which it basically is. I don't want to paint the desk as it is an antique desk and was my grandpa's. There's basically a Reba McEntire and Wynonna Judd theme in the room, sense I have alot of pics of them on the walls.
The shelf on the comp. desk is full..it contains my Reba and Wynonna CDs, videos, scrapbooks, ect.
I'm seeking help on three things:
1) Ideas on cheap ways to organize scrapbook supplies
2) Ideas on cheap ways to organize things in the room and books that are sitting out
3) Ideas on how to make things go together in the room so that the room seems to come together and look well decorated and nice

Here are pics of everything:

10  Re: lyrics...? in What the heck can I do with THIS? by fancycrafter on: February 05, 2006 10:36:20 PM
If it's not to late, I have some ideas you may like. You could make place mats for a table with the lyrics and pics that go with it. If you make graphics, then you could make a graphic design with pics that go with the song and put the lyrics on it like what was done here: and then print it and make it into a place mat.
Another suggestion would be to maybe somehow put some of the lyrics onto a picture frame, like around the frame.
You could make post cards that have the lyrics on them and maybe some photos that go with it like Garth Brooks photos with the lyrics to his songs.
And one last idea: you could pick like one song and stencil the lyrics onto a desk or table or something or pick a few lines from each song and stencil it. If you don't like the stencil idea, then you could print those lyrics and then decupag them onto something.
That's just a few ideas I came up with. Hope that helps.
