22  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Completed Projects / Day of the Dead Skull Rubber Stamp-don't look "razberryjam"!! on: October 18, 2007 09:31:16 AM
I made this for a Day of the Dead Swap-my partner is out of town so I'm hoping she won't see this before her package arrives Grin
It's my first stamp and I was so excited about how simple it was that I did it free hand.
23  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Handmade rubber stamps swap??? on: October 18, 2007 09:20:02 AM
I just made my first handmade rubber stamp and I'm so excited about this craft. Would anyone be interested in a swap? It's nice, because mailing would be inexpensive-we wouldn't have to attach wooden blocks unless we wanted to.
24  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Day of the Dead Skull Light with Jaunty Hat-ala "Crafty Chica" on: October 16, 2007 03:01:54 PM
This idea comes from Crafty Chica-Kathy Murillo. She has wonderful Day of the Dead ideas. I got the rubber skull lamp on sale for $3.00 at Target last year, but it just looked too plain. So I added some paint, sequins and a little hat that I got in a grab bag of craft items on half price day at the thrift store.

With the light on

Crafty Chica uses puffy paint and lots more glitter-I just used what I had on hand, but I'll probably add more-DOD skulls can never be too glitzy Grin
25  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Kiki Montparnasse and Man Ray not very cuddly doll on: October 10, 2007 07:49:04 PM
So...hmmm....I keep looking at all these terrific soft toys and I'm wondering whether to post...what the hay-here she is Kiki De Montparnasse metal and paper art doll Smiley

I had been trying to think of something to make with a Kiki
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alice_Prin
theme for a friend who is a huge fan of hers , so when I saw this challenge, it seemed to fit.
This is the original  art I took inspiration from -it's called Le Violon d'Ingres.
http://www.walkerart.org/archive/C/AF739994D2A2AE316169.htm
It is one of my favourite photographs and I love Man Ray
Kiki is wearing a little paper cone hat because once she was going into a fancy restaurant and the snooty maitre'd said she wasn't dressed correctly because she had no hat, so she took some paper and made a cone hat and everyone adored it!
Probably not a good toy to give to children under three SmileyTongue

27  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / The O'Lantern's yearly family portrait. on: October 06, 2007 07:28:45 PM
After seeing all of the other fab cards I swore I wasn't going to enter-but I must be brave!
28  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Discussion and Questions / ATC/Paper/Collage artists-how do you keep order?? on: October 06, 2007 08:57:34 AM
I have been in the process of trying to get all of my paper/ephemera/fabric,bits and bobs, etc...in order ...forever it seems. How do you all file your papers,etc...? Do you do it by colours, themes.type? I have an incredible amount of stuff and every time I think I've got hold of it it just grows Undecided and I get more confuzled.
I have a small work area-what are your favourite ways to store?
29  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Completed Projects / Log +old chair==funkrustico throne!! on: October 05, 2007 04:20:51 PM
SO I had some old logs
see http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=192874.0
and if you've seen any of my other  posts you might notice I have a thing for old chairs.
Put the two together and voila-a wonderful addition to the Chez Funkrustico back yard. Or maybe the front-I could sit and observe life on the block Grin

30  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / On the Road-decoupage homage to Kerouac through a kid's footstool!!! on: October 04, 2007 12:15:48 PM
This is the 50th anniversary of Jack Kerouac's On the Road. I had a beat up little footstool and I was looking through my old children's books and found this story about a car that went west. Voila-decoupaged book stand now!!
