21  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Supernatural Swap Round 2? on: May 21, 2007 07:08:16 PM
Now that we know there will be a season three why not try a round 2? I can't organize because ... I'm on my second swap right now. But I REALLY want to do this!
22  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / The King and Queen of Supernatural on: May 15, 2007 03:59:25 PM
I have been looking at these atc boards for a while and thought 'I could do that'. I have what you call 'craft add'. I need something that I can do relativly quickly and this was perfect.

As for my entry, these are my first cards so please ... be gentle.

In my fandom (supernatural) the king and queen are John and Mary Winchester. I wanted to pay homage to them as I can think of no one else with more attitude!

The king, doing what he does best, shooting something. There is a pentagram behind his head to represent his 'crown'

the queen. Beautiful and airy. Her crown was made to look more like a halo. The bottom of the card is singed to represent her firey exit from the world.

together at last.

these are probably the wrong size or something. I don't mind if I'm not part of the poll or whatever, I had fun and I'm still learning.
23  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Zodiac/Horoscope Swap Gallery on: May 15, 2007 07:03:52 AM
I hope that grace doesn't mind but I really wanted to post the pictures of the items I got from Luna on our swap! It's my first swap so I am over excited lmao.

first is this AMAZING box to keep my jewelry in. It's so big and pretty!

Here is the top detail. I'm a virgo which means virgin so the lady is appropriate

action shot! There is a little top try thing that holds all my small jewelry.

and the larger lower area holds all of my big jewelry!

also she sent me

this super cute little eyeglass bag! (green is my fav color)

this adorable 'virgo' necklace was inside the bag!

and this awesome virgo purse! I could never sew anything so well!

thank you so much luna! Everything is awesome!

24  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Big Round Plastic Beads on: April 15, 2007 08:12:24 PM
Alright I tried searching (it never works for me. I end up with a hundred posts about different swaps) I even just scrolled back about 5 pages. So if I missed this I am REALLY SUPER SORRY!

Alright now for the deal at hand.  I am in love with

http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/ref=br_1_2/602-9065625-4379058?ie=UTF8&frombrowse=1&asin=B000NJF57Q

^ this kind of jewelry. LOVE IT! The problem is I can't bring myself to spend 7 dollars on something I KNOW I could make myself! My problem is finding the beads!

I have checked both Micheals and Joanns to no avail. Joanns had beads like that but they only came in 'pearl' they also had big colored wood beads but that doesn't have the plastic look I'm going for.

I live in metro detroit so Hobby Lobby isn't an option for me, there aren't any on this side of the Mitten State. So what do you suggest? I have my tax return coming so I could buy beads online.

I checked Zlanarama.com and her beads are lovely and I will probably order some but they don't have the big roundness that I want!
25  UNITED STATES / Michigan / Down River Crafters? on: April 10, 2007 10:05:06 PM
Hey! I'd love to chat up some other crafters in the down river area (down river rats should stay together!). I'm in Dearborn off of Telegraph. But I grew up in Allen Park!
26  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Discussion and Questions / The Ex Boyfriend Shirt on: April 07, 2007 07:46:48 PM
Ian and I met a week after valentines day last year. After 3 months of dating he told me that three months of dating he told me that he didn't care about me the way I cared about him.

We kind of yo-yo dated after that for like 6 months.

Then one day nothing. He stopped calling, took me off his myspace and his livejournal. I found out later that he met someone and fell in 'love'. Whatever.

He left this shirt at my house.

Since Ian was a big fat guy it fits me. I want to do something to it to make it cute and girly. I know there are lots of recons of mens shirts, but are there any that would be good for bigger girls? It fits well already so I don't want to take it in too much. Also the sleeves have got to go.

I'm an amateur sewer, so probably something easy would be preferable!
27  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Making Sam Winchesters Scythe on: April 06, 2007 09:44:39 AM
For a friend of mines birthday I am making her a Supernatural Playset. I'm making Sam and Dean and John and Jo and Ellen and Ash and probably Gordan and Ava and Lenore as well.

I have plans to make things like a stuffed impala and a little rifle. the problem is I'm not sure how to make Sam's Scythe pictured here

anyone have any ideas? The dolls are about 8 inches tall.
28  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Discussion and Questions / A Little Discouraged on: March 28, 2007 08:14:33 PM
I went to JoAnns today to look at patterns and I got so excited because there was something really cute and it was a size 22. I wear a 22.

My excitement died when I looked at the measurements. It said waist 38 inches. My waist .. well it isn't 38 inches. Not even close. Now I'm really depressed.
29  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Discussion and Questions / How Hard Would This Be To make on: March 27, 2007 08:35:24 PM
alright I absolutley love http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=232798&C ategoryID=5449&LinkType=EverGreen dress. I have two major problems with it though.

A. It doesn't come in a size 22
B.It's 118 Dollars!  Shocked

So my question is how hard do you think it would be to make myself? Have any of you made a dress like this? Any suggestions?
30  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Another Jeans To Purse Covertion + Pics! on: March 22, 2007 08:53:49 PM
Alright I know these are super common but I've never made ANYTHING that looked good before and I had to share!

The jeans were a pair of Old Bongo's. They had frayed in the butt/crotch area and I couldn't wear them anymore. But years ago I lost alot of weight, and they were my first 'skinny' jeans and I had to save them! This was the perfect solution!

Ignore the messiness!

That's it layed out. I made the straps from one of the legs. Instead of making one long strap I made two shorter and tied them together.

Since the jeans had a pretty significant rip in the crotch /butt area I knew I had to line them. I found this really old pair of pajama pants and basically cut them the same way I cut the jeans, voila! Instant liner!

The pockets make an awesome gum/sunglasses holder!

I'm an extreme amatuer at the sewing machine, so please forgive the sloppiness of it!
