11  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / 13 Court Guard Squad as Finger Puppets (pic heavy) on: September 28, 2007 09:12:40 PM
I've started making finger puppets of the Gotei 13 from Bleach. I'm having  loads of fun doing it!

The finger puppets are made from felt with ribbon and painted details. As I complete them I'll had more!

completed:
Kenpachi Zaraki
Yachiru Kusajishi
Ikkaku Madarame
Toushiro Hitsugaya

Group Shot! Ikkaku, Yachiru, Kenny and Hitsugaya!

Ikkaku was the easiest because he has no hair!

Hitsugaya was the first one I made, so he's probably the worst. This is my fav char from bleach and I love him, even if he never smiles.

Kenny and Yachiru! I apperently forgot to take one of kenny alone. His hair was the hardest!

Yachiru alone. I'm really happy with her hair.

she's wearing her lieutenant's badge! It got smudged but the detail was so tiny. I suck at painting tiny.

The backs of hitsugaya and kenny's robes. All the details are painted. The Kanji on their backs represent which squads they run. Ten and Eleven respectively.

Well that's all I have for now! I plan on doing all the captains and lieutenants. Also whoever else I find interesting (Yumichika is next on my list). They don't have zanpaktos yet as I haven't quite figured out how to make them ... maybe cardboard. Well ... thanks for looking!
12  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Why yes! it IS another t-shirt quilt! on: September 18, 2007 08:01:42 PM
so I know you've seen a hundred of these.

It's not sewn well. It's not even, and there is a hole in it. Overall it's a pretty poor example of a t-shirt quilt. So why am I posting it?

I made it all myself! I cut it, I sewed it, I did everything! I've never made a project this big before and I have to say ... I'm pretty darn proud!

this is the front. It's approximately 5 ft by 6 ft.

the back lining is an old jersey sheet. It's really soft.

action shot! The dog LOVES it!

well, thanks for looking!
13  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / Stencling On Canvas or Cardboard on: August 15, 2007 11:42:25 PM
Alright this is probably the stupidest question of all time but I don't know the answer!

SO! I wanted to stencil on the cover of this journal. The problem is I've only ever stenciled fabric using freezer paper. Now I can't use freezer paper on this obviously because ironing on cardboard = bad. So what do I use for the stencil? Would something like cardstock work you think? I'm lost.
14  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / If You Were to peak in my brain ... on: August 11, 2007 01:16:03 PM
at 3 o'clock this morning. I imagine this is what you would find.

made with photoshop CS2, boredom, and an old photo of myself.
15  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Getting Soot Off Walls on: August 08, 2007 09:12:13 PM
ok. this is less crafty and more cleany but I figure here would be the place to ask.

So our furnace for lack of a better term exploded. The corner were covered in black soot it was horrible. Well I didn't realize how bad it was until I removed some posters from the walls. The outlines are terrible!

Here's my question. Can I use just regular soap and water to clean the walls or is that going to make things worse?
16  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / What Size Cereal Box? on: August 08, 2007 12:37:36 AM
I want to make/decopage some cereal boxes to hold my magazines. The problem after checking my magazines against the boxes I have, they wont fit! I don't want the magazines to get curled because their shoved into too small boxes.

So does anyone know what brand cereal has the correct size box for a normal sized magazine?

I live in the united states. So any cereal that isn't readily available here while appreciated wont help.
17  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Paper Snowflake Swap on: August 06, 2007 09:12:35 PM
I really enjoy making these. Different kinds of paper. Different painting methods. Would anyone be interested in doing a swap of paper snowflakes?
18  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / A String Doll I've named Daphne! on: July 15, 2007 04:31:41 PM
alright. Prologue. Some of you may be familiar with string dolls. Especially those featured on http://www.kambashi.com. I really like them. But I suffer from 'Icandoit' syndrome. Where in if I get it into my mind that I can do something then I'm not going to stop until I figure out how it's done and complete one (I'm sure a lot of you have the same 'ailment'.)

So I started looking on craftster for tutorials. Found none! But I did find some discussion on how people thought they were made.

I read they were nothing but string. No wire. No nothing but string. So I present you Daphne. The String dolls. She is made from nothing but crochet thread and glue.

Here she is posing in a bowl of ribbon!

she thinks she should be modge podges new spokes model. I totally agree.

And here she is with Daphne V 1.0 and 2.0.

It kind of reminds of that episode of 'my life as a teenage robot' where Jenny meets the earlier versions of herself.

Anyways. This was my first successfull attempt and I'm pretty happy with it. I will post more as I finish them!

Thanks for looking!
19  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Supernatural (the show) swap round 2 on: July 13, 2007 03:26:57 PM
I decided that I wanted to do this and I would organize it. But I wanted to make sure there was still interest. I am thinking of starting sign ups august 1st.
20  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / A Swap Project. IMPISHLADY DONT YOU DARE LOOK! on: July 10, 2007 05:38:24 PM
This was made for the fat girl/fat boy swap. It's my first successful bag and really, probably my first successful trip into sewing! the picture sucks I know, but the camera died.

I rarely post pictures of the things I make cause I dunno ... you guys are way better than me. But I really liked this.

I was going to make that stencil for a shirt, but the more I thought about it, the more inappropriate that seemed lol!
