1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / ELViS travel bag__| on: April 03, 2006 11:39:27 PM
This is the 3rd one I've made. I fell in love with the fabric and just had to make myself one. The others I didn't make sturdy, but I think it looks a lot better if it stands by itself. I used [http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=42927.0] that tutorial for the size. The whole bag cost about $16.

Don't mind me in the last one. It's 1:24 and I'm definately wearing my comfy pj's tonight.

2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / I finally made something! on: March 15, 2006 10:03:09 PM
I used most of this http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=42927.0 tutorial, which was created by the talented logiso.

I modified the size of the zipper, used something different to make the bottom and sides stiff, and added a few things on the inside. I did have help from my mom since I'm just starting out, but for the most part the inside and the zipper(s) I did.

So here are some pictures for your viewing pleasure. I'm giving this to my Aunt to take with her on her trip to Florida. I'll be making myself an Elvis one as soon as this one is all the way completed.

PS. Don't mind the pins that are still in it. The lining still has to be attached all the way.

3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Mother's Day / what to make for my mom__ on: March 14, 2006 02:22:20 PM
My mom is the type of person who always tells me a hug and a kiss is all she wants for any holiday. I want to do something special for her this year. We're taking a trip to NYC in the middle of May so I was thinking of something that she could take with her for that. Plus I'm most likely going up there to school which is 1,000 miles away from where I live now and I want it to be something she can always remember me by even when I'm not here.

I really want to make something for my grandmother too.

My mom is into: cooking, music, shopping, clothes, purses, jewlery, traveling, etc.
My grandmother is retired, likes soap operas, elvis (we share that!), coffee, cigarettes. She hates leaving the house, going out to dinner, etc.

Any ideas for either or both would be appreciated!
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / In need of two patterns on: February 06, 2006 10:56:23 PM
Hey everyone! I'm new to this site, but everyone on here does amazing work. I'm definately impressed.

I want to make two tops, but I couldn't find a base pattern in the tutorial list so I figured I could ask. I hope I'm posting this in the right place if not please let me know where I should move it to.

So here are the tops I wanted to make:

What type of material would you recommened to use for each to achieve those looks?
