1  Re: Twinkle's Big City Knits Book Knitalong in Knitalongs by sassoet on: January 03, 2010 05:36:15 PM
I attempted the Groovy Sweater and although I love the design, I am very disappointed with it. I found the pattern difficult to decipher, and there are more errors in it than are published in the errata. I shouldn't have used the yarn I did (Lion Brand Thick & Quick)...

I feel like ranting about it I'm so frustrated, but I won't. I waited until I got brave enough to knit the thing - I have never, done twists, cables, bobbles until now, and now that it's laying there waiting to get frogged makes me weep... Sad Sad Angry Cry

Here she is....<sniff>

2  Completed Felted Purse, but need opinions. Bad! Edit - It's done, done! in Knitting: Completed Projects by sassoet on: October 11, 2008 10:07:45 AM
Hi Everyone -
I stupidly volunteered to make a purse for a local fundraiser auction, and I've never been confident enough to ever sell anything I make (I'm strictly gifts - no selly selly).

Anyhow, the purse is made, and I feel like it needs embellishment. I've taken some cruddy photos which are hard to see the colour from, but I'm looking for your help. Does any option look alright, or should I just knit something else....? Undecided

Here is the almost finished bag, ready for shaping etc (believe it or not it's a dark heathered green):

Should it have just the simple ribbon flower with a nice antique silver button for the closure like this (believe it or not all that ribbon is also a dark green):

Or should it be a bit more fun with a little bit of felt dots?

Can you help a sister out?

Edit -
The flower seemed to be the higher vote, so I went that way. I added a lining from a Sally Anne shirt, and tossed on a button from an old leather jacket. Thanks so much to all who gave their opinion. Smiley

4  Felted Toddler Purses in Knitting: Completed Projects by sassoet on: September 21, 2008 05:31:34 AM
My nieces like their little purses. They use them to put their Tombliboos in Smiley
I've used my watch for scale.

5  More toddler sweaters :) in Knitting: Completed Projects by sassoet on: September 21, 2008 05:26:45 AM
I LOVE knitting for babies.
These two are knit in Estelle Cloud Cotton (it is SO incredibly soft)

6  Baby Sweaters! in Knitting: Completed Projects by sassoet on: May 19, 2008 08:13:06 AM
Two new baby sweaters. One in Manos Del Uraguay with a pattern from the Yarn Girls Guide to Simple Kid Knits. The second is Cascade Sierra with a pattern courtesy of a nice Craftster Crafter. http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=46458.0

7  Re: Tilted Duster from IK Fall 07 in Knitalongs by sassoet on: January 26, 2008 04:56:31 AM
I knit another one...
This one is charcoal Cascade Pastaza and worked out much better than my first (I hadn't realized that I had been knitting the skirt incorrectly!)

I recently finished mine, but I think I should have knit a smaller size (sorry no action shot), so I gave it to my girlfriend and am knitting another one.

I knit mine in Cascade Pastaza which I thought turned out very nicely.

9  Girls Gone Wild! in Screen Printing: Completed Projects by sassoet on: May 19, 2007 09:46:51 AM
We silkscreened panties and t-shirts. It was difficult to find a pin-up stencil to screen, so we used a Lichtenstein (sp?) type image with text that said "Oh no....It's girls gone wild!)

I believe the image came from Stencilry.org, but I can't quite remember.

10  Winter '06 Interweave Equestrian Jacket-edited w/progress pic in Knitalongs by sassoet on: March 09, 2007 06:47:33 AM
I've got it on the needles.....Anyone interested?

edit:
This is the photo of the back which I finished yesterday. I didn't realize that there were those lovely darts when I first decided to knit this up. I really like it. I dropped a stitch near the collar which I'm irritated about (you can see the marker in the photo), so i might just stitch it in.

I am using Manos del Uraguay in Rhubarb frogged from a disastrous attempt at another sweater. I think the varegation adds a nice touch...

Any thoughts guys? I'm just an advanced beginner so I really appreciate feedback.
