1  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Fairy house on: May 16, 2008 05:53:11 AM
Here is what my son and I made together the other night:

This is a perfect project to do with kids- we had so much fun gathering up the materials (moss, twigs, tiny pine cones, a tiny shell, etc) and then putting it all together.

If you look closely you'll see the tiny shell we used as a bowl to hold the fairies' milk inside. My son ran outside the next morning to see if the fairies had drank the milk yet (they hadn't). Sometimes it takes them a few days to discover these things, you know  Smiley

4  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Transfer paper like Sublime Stitching's? on: January 05, 2007 11:02:25 AM
Is there any company out there that makes iron on transfer paper that can be reused, exactly like what Jenny Hart uses in her pattern kits? I love the fact that I am able to reuse her patterns, and I want to draw my own, scan them, and then print them out on my computer. (Using one of those transfer pencils and tracing the design seems like such a pain, plus it will never look as good as my original drawing)

I read in an old post that some people were using regular printers w/ toner on regular paper to print patterns from the computer, but my printer is ink jet, and besides I'd much rather have my patterns be just like Jenny Hart's on translucent paper that's similar to marker paper.

thanks for any advice that anyone can offer me  Smiley

I have a red vintage vinyl couch in my living room, and my dog has ripped the vinyl seats with her claws. At first I could just flip the cushions  Cheesy , but now she's ripped every cushion on *both* sides. Can my couch be saved? Does anyone know of any creative ways to repair it?
