1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Sailor Playsuit on: March 22, 2011 10:10:41 PM
I've been wanting a retro-styled sailor playsuit for ages, and finally pulled my finger out...

I drafted the sailor collar to a princess-seamed top pattern I use for just about everything, and used Butterick 5250 for the pants (moved the zip to the back).

Its made from stretch cotton sateen, and is my absolute favourite outfit at the moment! I was unsure about high pants on a bigger grrl - but who cares... I love them.
2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Giant kawaii skull bow on: August 17, 2010 06:13:29 PM
The short story is I wanted to go a fetish party dressed as an evil-skull-cupcake - and needed to make an over-sized skull bow for my hair.

I used the air dry fimo and hand moulded it into a skull shape. When it was dry I used black eyeshadow and a fine makeup brush to paint makeup into the eye sockets, nose and mouth. Then hot glue onto a black bow hair clip.

So many great comments (my hair is a wig BTW! hehe) that I had to share.
3  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects / my first ever latex piece! on: August 15, 2010 08:37:45 PM
A few weeks back I went to a How to Work with Latex workshop - and we made actual garments! So exciting!

My first seam is not so great, but the next one is fine. Latex is so easy to work with, I couldnt believe it.

(my skirt looks high on one side because i'm standing funny)

Shiny!
4  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects / 1940's style highwaisted skirt on: August 15, 2010 08:23:07 PM

Just quickly sharing my favourite skirt - I used New Look 6750, but just the skirt piece of the dress. The straps cross over the back, and its made from black stretch bengaline. There are two decorative black buttons on the front straps.

I think more versions are in the pipeline, its perfect for swing dancing!

6  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Tear Drops Scarf (Knitscene Fall 07) on: July 29, 2007 04:10:14 PM
Well, finally finished this scarf for my mum (after frogging back from the Branching Out Scarf).

There ARE errors in the pattern people. Check out my blog for more info.
Thanks!

Yep, just the rectangle kind with tassles. I find them the easiest and cutest hats to make!
