1  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Flame eye makeup! on: December 20, 2007 10:08:13 AM
I did this for halloween last year.  I didn't have a costume so i thought I could at least do something interesting with my eye make up since i have a large canvas to work with!

I sort of outlined the whole thing with white eye liner, and then drew over it with a thin moist brush dipped in eyeshadow. I used red lip liner pencil, red, yellow, and orange MAC eye shadows and I think there's some shimmery gold in there but you can't really see it.

I did Soaps one year..It was easy and people seemed to really enjoy them!

Just get a block of soap from a craft store, melt  in the microwave and stir in some yummy smelling things!  I did all food items.  I made Chocolate and peanut butter soap, with some apricot seeds to exfoliate.  then i poured them into a cupcake pan with cute metallic cupcake wrappers.  There a bajillions of soap recipes on here for sure!

these are all really good ideas!  Thank you!  I was giong to make it for Xmas but luckily he understands how i am anal retentive and it'll be done when i feel it's done!  haha...So far i have managed to get a few things off of Ebay.

-A boatswain's mate pipe (whistle) with a wooden box with an anchor on it

-a Boatswains mate handbook from 1959!

He was a Boatswain's mate on his ship, so i tried to get items relating to that

So far though  ebay is pretty good for this kind of stuff....but i'd like to check out some thrift stores as well

I am working on a shadow box for my boyfriend who was in the navy.  I'd love to find some little figurines of ships with sails, old compases, and things like that.  Nothing too hokey or toy like.  But I'm having a hard time finding them.  Any suggestions?  I'd greatly appreciate them.  thanks!

^ Wow! I love the way you apply your eyeshadow, it looks so awesome. How do you do it? You're eyeliner looks really cool too.

Thanks!  I just use an angled brush and start from the inside corner of the eye and apply the colors, then just brush it over with a fluffy brush to blend em in....and to get the "wings" on the outside corners i just wet the brush and draw them on like that  super easy

Here's a few pics of makeup i do when i go out on the town...

These colors came in the same compact, by NARS i think, and i didn't think they'd go together but its pretty neat no?

I did yellow to orange to pink if you can tell....

Here's a different angle on the yellow/orange/pink
It kinda makes my eyes look radioactive.....
I think I used MAC for the orange and pink, and random hot topic eyeshadow for the yellow

#1 reconstructed charm necklace

I had a cheap cameo necklace with a red beaded chain that broke a bunch of times, so i just added some extra non matching chain in the back for length, and put on a couple of little deal-ies I had lying around ....the cameo came with the necklace, the bullet is from a keychain i got an at army/navy store, the ring is old costume jewelery, and a red fender guitar pick.

#2 recon charm necklace 2

Same thing as above only this time i added a chain with guitar pic, and a gun from a keychain.   EASY!

#3 Flower Hair pin

I got a small bunch of artificial flowers at the art store, and ripped off the plastic "spines" on the back of them....this makes the flowers flatter and then they lay against your head better....they i glued like 3 together so they looked fuller...added a pyramid spike in the middle and hot glued it to a hair barrett from the craft store...i wear this almost every day and it's paid for itself in compliments!!!

#4 Super Cute Earings

The mod pair I made from charms i pulled off of a Ben Sherman Key lanyard that i got for FREE....just got osme earing hooks and bent them on!!!   And i made these guitar pic earings for all of my girlfriends this past Xmas!!!

So i got this idea from an old issue of BUST magazine, and it was so simple i decided to do it....and in less than 2 hours i was finished!  I just eyeballed the BUST pattern and drew it on the pocket with pen and stitched over....you can still see the pen lines but it'll wash out im sure....
