11  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Cutesy OWL Brooch Hoothoot! =] on: December 04, 2006 01:40:23 PM
One night I felt like crafting, but had nothing in particular in mind. So I brought out all my fabrics and beads and put this bad boy together. Smiley I hope you like!

I used vintage fabrics for the owls and bow thingy. Beads include glass, vintage, swarovski crystals, gemstone, plastic and sterling sliver. Thanks for looking!
12  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / AHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhh REAL MONSTER!!! on: October 24, 2006 06:51:33 AM
This is my first stuffed animal. He is made of monster fur with cotton in the back, googly eyes, and a felt mouth. Somehow the longer eye kinda turns to the side so it looks like he is looking in seperate directions. That wasnt intentional, but I kinda like it! Smiley

Comments appreciated, thanks for lookin!

Hello fellow craftsters, long time no post Smiley Well I've been busy working on purses for my friend Karla Chaos' Fashion Show. It took place at a college and was a blast! We had some kick butt bands play, a dance team, a DJ, some short films, and ofcourse the fashion show! Here are some pics of the bags I made. They are simple, but I'm just starting out...

16  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / hi! sewing machine trouble :[ on: July 10, 2006 02:17:59 PM
My *new* sewing machine is already being a pain. It gets stuck after a few stitches and i have to mess with it to get it to go any further. And once it gets going, the stitches are all different lengths from tiny to HUGE! I think the thread isnt catching on the bobbin thread maybe? I'm new to sewing so maybe theres something I didnt think to check? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm so anxious to sew again! Thanks in adance Smiley

Oh and its a Singer if that makes a difference..

18  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Tito's skull blanky! :D on: June 14, 2006 07:18:26 AM
I just got a bunch of random fabric in from an ebay lot, and had this reallllllly soft skull fabric that isnt really my taste, so I made my baby Tito a blanky! Its kinda quilted? I sewed sqaures in it and stuffed them with pillow fill to give it a comforter feel. Tito is always sleeping under the covers in my bed so I figured he needed that for his bed too!

[yes, I'm obsessively in love with my dog]

20  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Beginner sewer with ideas and no experience >< on: May 31, 2006 07:58:41 PM
Hi everyone! I really want to make a dress out of this large Violent Femmes t-shirt I got at their concert a few weeks ago (bragging!! Wink):

I'm really new to sewing, I've made one really simple dress before. But I have a few ideas of what I would like to to look like. Please dont mind my late night sketches.

Idea #1: I was wondering about the top part, if I should add extra material (make it looser) around the top of the bust so that the part that is pulled down doesnt have to stretch too much. Or would it be ok to just leave it measured to my body. Sorry, Im trying my best to explain, but I'm sewing dumb.

Idea #2: Here the straps would tie at the shoulder. Any advice at all at how to sew on the straps would be a great help.

and for both, any help on how to do the ruffles at the bottom would be greatly appreciated. Also, which do you like better? Ok, sorry if I confused you more than I myself already am. Thanks in advance!  Kiss
