1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / .... and her name is Veronica on: May 23, 2006 01:10:27 PM
Finally I am posting my very first completed knitted NON-scarf project. Her name is Veronica and she is from the pattern in the book 'Knitted Babes' by Claire Garland. I would have posted her sooner, but I am soooo-o critical of my work. I have seen so many fabulous creations in here and just didn't feel up to par!

Anyway, I hope you'll love her as much as I do!  Smiley

2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Project Ideas??? on: March 19, 2006 09:23:49 PM
Okay- in a weak moment, I bought not one but TWENTY FOUR skeins of Patons Voodoo yarn. It looked so cool and was very (VERY) inexpensive (otherwise I wouldn't have looked twice at it). I automatically thought it would make a fabulously funky teenie throw for my bed- just something to throw over my shoulders. Well, I started knitting a swatch to see how it works up and it is very easy to knit, BUT there is no rhyme or reason to the stuff (it kind of looks like a pelt of fur from an Elmo doll)! I have used over a half a skein to make the swatch (which I have been stretching at to make it look CLOSE to the shape of a square) and I am feeling a bit discouraged about the whole thing.

I tried looking up project ideas/ patterns online and have only come up with pillows.... which makes me think I may end up just using it for that (bleah).

Any suggestions?Huh
