1  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Isabeau, small and quick... anyone game? on: February 05, 2006 07:19:11 AM
Mine is blocked:

Can't find my crochet hook or darning needle though.  Bah.

I'm not going to put a handle on it, because I am using it fora bible cover, and the handle would get in the way Smiley

The lovely lacey pattern's not very obvious, is it?!  I dunno if this is down to the fact I am using two strands of yarn, or it might be because of the YO's - how do you work these on the purl row?  I have always tended to purl into the back of them because, well its easier and there's no point in making life more tricky than need be Tongue  But I realised as I started working this that that's probably wrong and I have been purling into the front of the stitch and now I'm getting very small holes.  I guess the lesson I should take from this is if it aint broke...

Anyhoo, I shall probably soldier on and see what it's like after blocking; maybe the pattern will open up a bit more then *fingers crossed*.  I look forward to seeing everyone else's progress Smiley

Jane.

Mine looked like that until blocking.  My camera is charging up atm but I will post photos tomorrow Smiley

I'm working up the second half of the body as I type Smiley
this is fun!  The lace pattern is really elegant, but so easy.

Hmmm... that looks like fun!
I could use a new bible cover, so I might have to stop off at the yarn shop on the way home  Wink
5  CLOTHING / Clothing Sewalongs / Re: Anthropologie on: January 31, 2006 05:35:53 AM
Fabulous idea - not a day goes by when I don't think about how nice it would be to be able to buy up a storm at Anthropologie.  When I get a chance, I will be , erm, inspired, by http://www.anthropologie.com/jump.jsp?itemID=9615&itemType=PRODUCT&iSubCat=1352&iMainCat=17 this dress right here.  And I'll be borrowing heavily from this Vogue pattern - http://store.sewingtoday.com/cgi-bin/voguepatterns/shop.cgi?s.item.V8182=x&TI=20009&page=1
